SW to open new dates....when?

Until last week I would have bet on today.

Now I think SW will wait at least a week or two to see what effect the "terror" alert has on bookings. SW does not like to change the schedule after it's released so I think they will wait and see if they feel like the latest mess is going to effect them.

And it may, USAToday had an ariticle today on flyers not booking "short" haul flights. (ie LA to Vegas, Nashville to Birmingham etc) SW has a lot of those.

I am 95% sure it will be this week. The people over on flyertalk said to look at the sales letters they send and when they offer a sale that says "Travel August 22, 2006 through end of schedule. (We are currently accepting reservations through December 10, 2006)" then they are opening the dates SOON.. the "end of schedule" line is a dead give away so far they have been right on the last 4 extentions that I have been checking.. so I think it will be this week!

I am actually hoping for next week (don't flame me!! )
we are 2 credits short for a Rapid Reward and DH is flying next Mon - Wed which will give us the 2 credits we need. I would like to be able to book all our tickets together, so I'm hoping for next Thursday at the earliest

all right...went back to check my other systemwide sale emails from SW and noticed that the one from 7/25 also said "through the end of schedule" but as we all know the schedule did not open up that week.

This is starting to make my head hurt

not sure about the last time, but when I bought my tickets for our trip this August, they released the dates on a Wednesday morning before 10:00

I thought that they open dates on Thursday at 10:00 am central. Not sure if this is true but I'm crossing my fingers that it will be! I need Dec. 22 - 29!
