SW refund??

I had a trip booked (off a DING) and today noticed the regular price had gone down. So I cancelled my rez and re-booked the exact same flight (day/time/etc.) Now I read before on one of these threads that because everything stayed the same, I should be able to get the difference credited back to my card. After doing the re-book, I called SW and they said they do not think that my request for a refund will happen, because my org. rez was for a DING promotion. But he was sending my request in anyways..... What do you think will happen?

I've read different accounts, but I think people have the least problems when everything stays the same including the type of fare. For example Internet to Internet, Promotional to Promotional. I think in your case it could go either way.

I use SW all the time & if they just give you credit, you have a full year, I think, to use it. It is always my excuse for flying somewhere again.

We changed from a DING fare to a "sale" fare, and I was told we were NOT able to get a refund back on the card because the initial DING fare is "non-refundable". I got $180 Ticketless Travel credit, which I sold on eBay, since its fully transferable!

From my understanding, if you initially book a "refundable" fare and it later goes down in price (or a DING comes out), then you would get a credit on your card. Otherwise, like in my case (and yours it sounds like), you just get a travel credit. Still better than nothing!

You need to call the
214-792 4223 #
They should be able to issue you the refund. I asked the lady at the 1 800 # and was told no refund on non refundable tickets. when I called the 214 # there was no problem at all issuing a refund.
