I have not signed up yet but.....
We flew to Orlando in Sept. and have ressies for Nov., will they allow those flights to become eligible?
What are the other benefits that you guys like or enjoy.
Thanks
Chris

I believe that as long as you have the confirmation number or can get it, you can get credit for flights in the last 24 months. You also get 2 credits for signing up for the RR account. Once you have a RR number you can add upcoming flights to your account. In our family we have earned 4 RT tickets so far. We get RR credit for rental cars and hotel stays also. Sign up soon!

Southwest will probably give you credit for the September trip as a courtesy. Sign up now so you can get credit for your November trip. Getting the Rapid Rewards Visa card gives you 8 credits the first time you use it, so you would have 12 credits after your November trip. They also give out 2 free credits on your anniversary date, as well as some worthwhile specials such as take 3 round trips before "X" date and earn a free flight. Good luck.

They are having a special where if you fly two "long" roundtrips before Nove 14(I believe) you get a free roundtrip. DH and I were already taking an early Nov trip for Food and Wine and found a ding for an October weekend that the kids had Friday off so we should be getting our free roundtrips to hopefully use for our very expensive Christmas flights!

And yes, they will backtrack up to a year if I'm not mistaken. Their reward flights are so easy too, and changeable!

I checked on this last with SW. They DO go back for 24 months if you can provide the confirmation number. Actually, they pulled up my flight for Dec 2006 without a confirmation number and my September 2007 flight. I am taking 2 unexpected trips, with a rental car on one trip. So that will give me 11 credits, plus I just applied for their Visa for another 8 on top of that.

The 24 months wil consecutive....so you drop off one month at a time. But all my flight from Dec 06 to Dec 08 will be in the same period. Looks like I will be getting at least one free trip.

Does anyone know if there is a required limit on rental cars in order to receive Rapid Rewards Credit?

I will have a partial day credit when I rent a car to go from my hotel to Port Canaveral and drop it off there while cruising.

Then I will rent again when I return from the cruise in order to get back to the airport to fly out.

So two rentals, but they will probably be under $50 each.

We love SW RR. In recent years we've gone to WDW 3 times a year, which leave us a little short of a Reward Ticket. A couple years ago, I got the VISA, so I definitely get a Reward ticket every year. Last year I transferred AMEX points to get DH a ticket, and this year used some of their promo's (Triple rewards with Alamo). The net result is that for the last 3 years we've had reward tickets to pay for at least one way of our President's weeks flights, which are always very expensive. I don't think I would have done as well on any other airline. and the icing on the cake, is that many of of our points, were earned on flights costing less than $75.

Definitely sign up for ding, and if you see a ding for $30-$45 or less and maybe want to take a quick trip, it help to rack up those extra points,

I think we will be in the same boat! Do you have a phone # that you called or just visit the web site? Lastly did you have to open a credit card as well?
Thank you all for the info.:thumbsup2

Chris,
I called the number on the website under the "Contact" tab. The rep was very helpful.

You do not have to open a credit card. I wanted to take advantage of the 8 RR credits offered. In fact, since, I have seen another promotion, offering 9 RR credits for opening up a credit card.
