SW Rapid Rewards Flyers - ever get bumped?

Do any of you who fly SW on RR ever get bumped? I was wondering if you get your original ticket back? What compensation have you gotten? Just curious.

I think you have RR confused with flying stand-by. It is not. You receive a confirmation about your free ticket and then book a flight either online, on the phone or in person. You have a seat just like those who paid for one. If however you check in at the gate very very late, you run the risk of being bumped as does those with regularly bought tickets. Those bumped usually receive some kind of additional compensation as well as another seat on another flight...Mark

I think the OP wants to know about compensation. On SW the standard compensation is some cash and a refund of your ticket price which of course has a cash value of 0 on a RR ticket. I don't have a clue how bumping works on a RR ticket.

We just got bumped (volunteered to give up our seats on an overbooked flight) a few weeks ago on our return from Disneyland, and 2 members of my family were travelling on Rapid Rewards free tickets. We were given $200 for each person, and the value of the one-way tickets for the flight. The value of the Rapid Rewards tickets was zero, so we didn't receive extra compensation for that part. So, for 2 people, we got $400 in travel vouchers. Hope that answers your question!

DisneyHumbug - No, I'm just not making myself clear. We got $200 each in vouchers and they put us on a later flight. No extra compensation for the ticket value since the value of our RR ticket was zero. We did not get our RR ticket back to use again later.
