Hi, we're planning a Disney/Sea World trip the middle of Dec...yes This Dec.

My questions will relate to SW.

In looking at tickets it looks like there's a 2nd day free ticket option. Is that for everyone and you just show your ticket at the gate? You don't have to get there the first day after a certain time to get that second day free?

Such as getting to SW on day 1 at 2pm, which lets you into SW on the second day free?

I went to SW in Ohion years and years ago...around 30 I think. So remember very little of it.

What is there for 3yos' to do? Can we do it in one day? Or should we plan on 2 days? He doesn't take naps anymore, so probably won't do a 'go back to the hotel and rest' deal. Although we're leaving it as an option! LOL

Can you give me any details, or help on obtaining tickets cheaply? We'll have to buy 3 adult and 2 child.

Thanks
Sheri

Hi Sheri. Will try to help answer your questions.

As far as I know the 2nd day free comes with the purchase of any ticket. We have gone in the morning and bought tickets and used them for the 2nd day free. You don't have to arrive after a certain time.

For the 3 yo there are a lot of shows I think a toddler would enjoy. Definitely the dolphin show and Shamu but our kids also love Clyde and Seymour (us too). There is also the Pets Ahoy show I think they would enjoy. Check out the Clysdale horses too. My DD loves them. I don't think the little ones will be bored. If you arrive in the afternoon I really don't think you can do the park justice in one day. We usually go for a whole day and then come back for the 2nd day until 3:00 or 4:00 but I do love Sea World and could spend all day checking out the dolphins which I think your kids would also enjoy and try to take them to the dolphin nursery too.

If you buy tickets in advance from the Sea World website at least 7 days ahead of time you can save 10%. Also if you sign up for Southwest Rapid Rewards and print out the card and buy the tickets at the gate and present the SW card it is good for 20% off.
Thanks

Hope this helps to answer some of your questions. We really love Sea World and the kids enjoy it too. I think your family will have a good time there.

SeaWorld can be done in a day, esp. with young kids. You won't be able to see every show, so pick and choose ahead of time (or make choices once you're there). For us, the Shamu show is a "must," so if we can fit in another show or two around it, great, but if not then we've got Shamu. The exhibits are beautiful, we found it (twice in past 3 years) clean and well-maintained, with lots and lots for little kids. I would recommend renting a stroller there with your child; it can be a lot of walking.
