SW questions - Feeding Dolphins? Sesame Street?

Hi! We're headed over to SeaWorld from our cruise's port at Canaveral for the day in early February. DH and I went there over 6 years ago, but don't remember much now and things have changed anyway. ;) Now we'll have our 5 and almost-3 year old with us, so we feel a little less prepared for the park.

Can you still feed the dolphins in the big open area? I think I remember that we could buy food last time and feed them, trying to pet them as they swam by. Is that still an option?

Since SW is owned with Sesame stuff, do they have any Sesame Street rides or shows that would be fun? Any meet & greets?

Any other great suggestions for our day? We'll be there for most of the time it's open (obviously don't want to get back to the ship late ;) ), and will have our stroller with us. Are there any great places to get lunch - maybe less expensive? (We'll have dinner on the ship)

You can pay to feed the dolphins. It is 7.00 a tray and each person needs a tray to enter the area. Feeding times do fill up so you may want to line up early in the day.

There is a Sesame Show seasonally, so I don't think it will be running when you are there in early Feb.

There are no Sesame rides.

See answers above.

several years ago you could buy a tray of fish and feed the dolphins whenever and come and go as you please, now you wait in line for schedule feeding times and they only allow so many in at a time and only so many for each session. It is $7 a person going in. If you dont pay you have the option of standing across the way and taking pics. My husband, son and I all went in and we just let our son feed all of the fish. Watch out for the birds! I got a lot of great pics.

Thanks for the great info!

The dolphin feeding makes sense, maybe it's less crazy that way? So are the feeding times scheduled on your map?

Oh well about Sesame Street - they'll hopefully never know that's sometimes an option. ;) We'll do Sesame Place later this year anyway.

If you happen to be there on Saturday February 4, that will be the last day of the Just For Kids series of concerts. That day is scheduled to be Choo-Choo Soul. Not having any kids myself, I have no idea if that falls into your kids age group. There are usually 2 concerts during the day, but it sound like there will be 3 that day.

There is also a seasonal show that day called Elmo and Abby's Treasure Hunt.

If you are not there that day, there is usually a small kiosk that sells Sesame Street merchandise items, but that is about it.

For lunch - if you want something small, Captain Pete's has hot dogs and nachos. Or you can go to Voyagers and split a plate or two of brisket or ribs. Or maybe a slice of pizza at Sea Port? Just depends on what type of food you like.

I can't speak for more than 10-15 years ago; but there have always been feeding times; it was never "come and go as you please". If they did it that way, they'd probably sell out of food before noon; because, last time I checked, dolphins only eat so much before they aren't hungry anymore.

They have changed how you go about feeding the dolphins over the last few years. With having a feeding area and a non-feeding area.

Thanks! It looks like the Elmo & Abby show isn't happening on our date, and we won't be there for the Just for Kids thing, but oh well, I'm sure that'll just leave more time for the "regular" SW stuff. :)

SW Orlando does offer a Breakfast with Elmo and Friends character meal. Might be something to look into if you're interested. I believe there are details on how to book the meal on the SW Orlando website under the dining link, or you can call SW's customer service line to get more info.

Well it doesn't look like that's available other than on the Kids dates, so it looks like no Sesame Street stuff for us. Shh, no one tell my kids. ;)

The Sesame breakfast is seasonal, just like the show.
