I bought 3 round trip tickets lat month for what was an OK price. The price is now almost $150 cheaper for all three tickets. I have non-refundable tickets, can I do anything to get some money back?

Because you purchase the non refundable tickets, you cannot get a refund, but use the credit towards a future trip for upto 1 year from original purchase date.

You should be able to get a credit and then apply them to the new tickets at the lower price, you will then still have the remaining credit on your SW account, as the PP said, to use for a future flight, within the time frame allowed.

Someone else will probably tell you exactly how to do it so you protect yourself from 'returning' your hi priced tix while getting the low priced ones so you dont lose your current tix incase someone is getting the last lower priced tickets while you are doing it also.

Or you can just call them and maybe they can do it for you :)

If it is just a change in fare (Not a Ding!), you can make the changes very easily.

Just click the link, enter your confimation number and the name of the ticket purchaser (the name on the credit card used to purchase the ticket). You can then rebook the flight with the same confirmation number. It will not cancel your flight, just change your fare.

See, told ya someone that knew what they were doing would show up :D

I just did it for the first time this morning (used my savings from a previous flight) so I can tell you it does work-and I was the first one to say "Yeah, I bet!" when I heard about rebooking and getting the money. Just remember your confirmation #s on the flight. At Christmas, there was the same flight for DS to come home for $14 less a few days after I booked. So I rebooked his flight. My credit card, though, still showed the higher rate taken out. So I was wondering when/how I'd get my $14. This morning, I booked a trip to WDW for me for May. The internet asks for any credits from previous Ticketless Travel, and they ask for the confirmation # of the one you rebooked and saved on. Sure enough, I got the credit, so now I'm all set, and I'm thrilled!

THANK YOU EVERYONE! I now have a $150 credit for a trip in the next year. YIPEE!

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!! You just reminded me to check my flights, and the price was cut almost in half! I just saved over $100 on two flights, I'm so excited!! I love SW's refund/credit process. It's so great.

I have seen on here that there is a 800 number for customer service (NOT the 800 number to book flights) that you can call and have the credit refunded back to your credit card, even on a so-called "non-refundable" flight. I don't know what the number is, but I'm sure somebody does. It's a number just for customer service related to credit card transactions or something like that.

The 800 number for SW is

1-800-435-9792

This is a general customer service number. Reports on the Dis state that you need to call 214-792-4223 to get refunds.

That's never a problem, since I am always willing to book another flight.

My dh makes fun of me saying I would book a $2000 vacation just for the sake of using a $200 credit. :goodvibes

Just FYI - Keep in mind it's travel COMPLETED within one year of the original booking date. So if you bought the original tickets on November 15, you have to take your next trip (not just make the reservation) before November 15. If you go to travel tools and view ticketless travel funds, it will show you when they need to be used by.

I just love SWA for their flexibility.

:confused3 Is there something wrong with that? I would do it to use a $20 credit.:lmao:
Yeah, it made perfect sense to me too. I thought that was an excellent idea-I've managed to "save" like that, too.

If you rebooked on the EXACT SAME FLIGHT NUMBER, on the EXACT SAME DATE, after you come home, you can call SWA and they will refund the difference on your credit card.

I have done this more than once.

However, if you change the itinerary at all, you can only get credit.

Actually, you don't have to wait until after your flight. I helped a coworker change a flight and call the refund dept. on the same day and the credit was issued then.

Also keep in mind that if you combine this with a luv certificate that expires soon, or someone elses credit, the new reservation takes on the date. For instance, I had credit that didn't expire until December. But I also had a luv certificate that expired in August. I made new reservations combining them and then had to cancel. My entire credit (even though I had also paid another $300 out in cash), expired in August..even the portion that originally expired in December and my cash, that I had just put down in June.
Also, there is a rumor on a travel board, that with the new business class, SW may soon be making non refundables, really non refundable...and perhaps the generous credit may sometime soon be a thing of the past.
