I was able to change my flight to MCO from MHT and saved $20.00 on the trip. Went from $205.00 to $185.00 RT.

Just booked my dec flight yesterday...I'm hoping the fare war will continue and my rate will go down....but it hasn't yet....:sunny: :sunny:

Just got $49 each way for Oct! :hyper: This same flight was $69 earlier this week.

Now, if they'd just make the non-stop flights available for those rates...

I just booked our Departing flight from PVD to MCO on Dec 10th 2 days ago at $69/pp. Figured that would be the lowest I would see. On a lark, I checked it today and saw it down to $49/pp. Cancelled and rebooked. Now we have a $60 credit torward our treturn flight on the 19th. Now we just gotta wait for the return dates to be released.

By the way, a couple of things, when I was talking to the agent at SWa this morning, she thought the rest of Dec and beginning of 05 would be released probably around the end of this month. Here's hoping...

One other thing I found out. if you have ticketless funds that have recently expired and you didnt get to use them, she told me that SWA customer service will usually extend them another 6 months so you have an opportunity to use the moneys. This happened to me. I guess we transferred funds from one flight to another and I didnt realize they had expired until I went to use them.

I was able to change mine also. I'm flying Nov 29 returning Dec 7 for $115 round trip - non stop! Can't beat SW from MHT!

I'm happy some of my fellow Dis'ers were able to save some money. I'll keep my fingers crossed that fares go down for everyone else too. (Maybe SW will have an across the board sale and we can all save some more $)!!:sunny:

We just booked this past Thursday when they opened up Nov & Dec. We booked our round-trip flights, 11/27-12/2, PVD-MCO. We'd picked PVD over BDL (where we usually fly out) because the return flight was $69 instead of $79, so we saved $30 for the three of us (plus, slightly shorter drive for us and a little better flight times).

Lo and behold, I checked today, and the return flight was down to $49! Just made another $60 plus taxes! Some was as a credit, some was refundable (not sure why?). At least it's starting to take the sting out of the fact that our outbound flight on the Saturday after Thanksgiving was $140, because all of the lowest priced fares said Unavailable. At least we saved something!

Now if my departing flight would go down some, I'd be happy, but I won't hold my breath.

I think I've read where others tried to get the credit on the credit card instead of future travel? Do you think I'd be successful?

I cannot say if you would be successful or not, I can only tell you that if you don't try and ask, you won't be. :)
I was one of the ones that was very successful in getting a credit on my CC. The reason part of your fare was refundable is because it was the tax and fee part.

Thanks, Gail! I didn't realize it was the taxes/fees.

I just called now (twice in a row, in fact, just to see if I got a different response). I was told both times that unfortunately I needed to keep the Ticketless Travel Funds for the balance because that part was nonrefundable. Just curious -- did you have to call more than once to reach someone who was willing to issue the credit? Did you wind up asking for a Supervisor? I'd rather not do that, since technically the agents were absolutely following the rules... I can use the last $27 toward next April's flights, but would rather have cash in hand, "just in case."

Thanks again!

figment....

what number did you call?

if what i saw posted here is correct, it seems the "lucky" ones called the phone number of SWA

The number that lawgs gave you is the one I called. They were wonderful.

:D Just redid my fares. Going in Dec. and booked $69 MHT to MCO last week and thanks to this post just got $49 each way and saved $40.

Like my DW says to me...if you keep getting all these deals pretty soon they'll be paying us to fly!!!!!!:D

Thanks so much! You just saved me $80! I'd just booked last Thursday and got the $69. return flight, now it's $49. The woman offered me the credit for future flight, or credit my card. I told her I don't know when we'd be traveling again and wanted the card credited, so she walked me through the whole process then told me what to print out, annotate, and where to send to get it credited.
