SW in a day?

Can you do SW in a day? Just the Sea World part. We used to go when there was one in Aurora, Ohio but Florida's one is much larger.

We went last year April 2008 and we are going again in April 2009 . We spent two days at Sea World but I think you could do it all in one day. We went back since we had 2nd day free ticket, we enjoyed see the dolphins and shows twice. I am not sure if you have children or not . On my trip it was me 40+, my son 21, and my daughter Tiffany 7 years old.

I think Sea World is doable in a day. You need to decide which shows you want to see. It'd be hard to see all the shows and fit in the other wonderful attractions. Shamu is the biggie followed by Blue Horizons (at least that was the name when we were there). You'll pick up the park map and show schedule after you enter. We have only done the two shows I mentioned as some of the others seem like shows I can see at our local zoo even though they might not be quite as good. I really enjoy Sea World. I feel as though I'm on my time and not a "schedule" to get fast passes and see all I want to see. If you chose your shows wisely and extend your stay into the early evening, you'll have a wonderful day.

I don't think you would be able to get to everything worth visiting in one day. If you tour commando style and race from one attraction to the next, you just might squeeze in most of it. . of course you would probably need to skip any relaxing lunch time and eat while running to your next show. I also don't believe it's possible to do all the shows in one day, but you might be able to get to the MUST NOT MISS shows in the same day.

We spent 2 days there in the spring and still didn't cover the entire park. I don't believe there's a park of any type in Orlando or surrounding that you can really "do" in one day. You are going to miss some great attractions if you try. Our experience is that we leave feeling like we missed too much and are exhausted from the pressure to move, move, move through the park. Take your second day free and enjoy SW. It is a beautiful park and you won't be disappointed.

I was curious on this as well. We are staying on property at Disney and don't have anything palnned for departure day. Our flight doesn't leave until 7pm and we will have a rental car. We thought if we got to Seaworld when it opened and stayed until mid afternoon, we migt be ableto have an enjoyable day. Our main show to see would be Shamu and then just wonder around and see the park. Does this sound possible or don't bother?

If you arrived at the park at opening and stayed as long as possible, you would be able to see and do alot, however, you would not be able to see and do everything. If you are looking for an enjoyable day, a couple shows and wandering around, SW is your park.

I think it depends on the age of the children if any you are traveling with and the time of year! If there are no children you can completely avoid Shaamu's (spelling ?) Happy Harbor as it's a sandbox, kiddie rides and climbing structure.

I do believe it's doable depending on what you want to see. I would decide ahead of time which shows are important. We love them all but you could skip Pets Ahoy and the circus if you are limited on time. We've found the lines for Atlantis and Kraken to be the quietest 20 minutes before closing but it could have been luck. We generally spend two days every other year in SW but our kids are little and they spend at least an afternoon playing in Happy Harbor.

We were at SW on 12/29/08, and saw most of what we wanted to in the one day. We did Kraken right away in the morning, and should have done Journey to Atlantis then as well, but it was pretty cool out, and we didn't want to be wet! We never did get on Atlantis, because by late morning, the wait was 60 minutes and we didn't want to wait. We saw the Shamu show, Blue Horizons, and Clyde and Seamore. We walked through pretty much all of the exhibits, fed the dolphins twice, and rode the Polar Express ride simulator (at the Wild Arctic exhibit). We did not go into Shamu's Happy Harbor, because my kids are older. We did not go into the Anheuser Busch area either. I had planned on us going back to SW a 2nd day, but my girls decided they would rather lounge around our resort pool instead!

We went in July 07 and we only had one day. We were able to see most shows, and pretty much all attractions and rides. We at dinner at Sharks Grille. I'd say it's do-able in one day. I think we even ended up leaving before the park closed and went back and had dinner at the hotel (Pop Century).

With a little planning you can see most of Sea World in one day (main shows). The main focus of your planning would be with show times. Some shows have limited times and some shows overlap each other and do not forget travel time and arriving early to get a seat (20-30min early). Personally, it is nice to take 1 1/2 to 2 days to see the park at your own pace and see some items twice if you desire.
