Any guesses on SWA reservations extended thru end of may? We're travelling the week before memorial day. Also, would it be a good idea to book for our group of eight (yes , eight!), when the reservation schedules come out and wait for a better fare later on a ding? Thanks for any advice!

I think I read on a SW prediction thread the 'official' guess was around January 4. Where are you looking to fly out of? I can't offer a lot of advice on when to purchase. I can tell you I waited diligently by the computer for the latest round of dates to be released and was disappointed with the OKC and TUL fares. Ended up booking out of Kansas City for $49 each way. (VERY happy with those prices, and they sold out right away) I'll still watch for Dings to see if I can get anything closer or a better rate, but I'm fine with driving to KC when it saves me a grand.

I found the KC rates on Southwest's website...right after they released the dates. Plus I signed up for Ding--you can watch southwest flights from multiple airports on that. I also have farewatchers set up on orbitz and travelocity. I was disappointed when Delta stopped doing a direct flight from TUL to Orlando. For us, driving to KC and catching a direct flight from there doesn't add on too much travel time compared to some of the flights with layovers out of Tulsa. LOL
