SW Flight Now Cheaper

I have seen that our flight is now cheaper than when I booked it a few weeks ago. Do I have to call or can I book the lower fare online? What happens to the money I already paid? The difference is like $65. Do I have to pay for the entire flight again?

You should be able to change it online or on the app. I just changed my 3 tix on the app for the second time in a week because the cost keeps dropping. There is a “change/cancel” option when you pull up your reservation. Just click on “change” and choose the same flights. If you have a companion pass booked, you have to cancel theirs first, then change yours, and then add them back.

The extra fare will be a flight credit to apply to another flight. The voucher code is your confirmation number.

That flight credit must be used within one year. Not a 100% sure of when that year started. It could from purchase date or travel date.

Yes, your credit is good from one year from when you first bought that more expensive ticket. Keep track of the confirmation code of the flight you have credit on, as that’s what number you enter when booking another flight during the next year, to apply the flight credit you now have.

I just noticed my flight was cheaper by about $98. I called Southwest and requested a call back. They called back within 45 minutes. They were super helpful and found that the difference was $123! I now have a credit for future use.

I changed and saved yesterday, and then changed and saved again this morning. Over the past couple of years, I have found that Mon and Tues seem to be the days most likely for the prices to drop.

If you don't travel often and are not likely to use the credit within one year, you could use it to buy the early check in for the upcoming trip. At least that way it doesn't go to waste.

I consantly check my flights on the app , and mess around with local airports to maximize savings.
Just tonight after checking several of my flights coming up I now have $110 in credits towards other flights.

I fly southwest unless I'm doing first class on Delta or United so it helps with Disney trips especially with the new annual pass program coming back to DL soon !
