We are a very tall family. We will be traveling with 6'7" DS and three more of us over 6'. Do we want to head to the exit row? (all age 18 or over)

The front row actually has the most leg room, but there is no underseat storage so all carry ons have to go in the overhead bins. After that, the exit rows would have the most leg room.

Dh is 6'4", dd is 5'10" and I'm 5'8"....we usually head for the exit rows.

My husband used to be 6'4". Then he lost his hair and started saying 6'3". Now I guess he is shrinking because he says "about 6'2". But through all of this, he has preferred the exit row.

I'm 5'10" and DS is 6'6". We go straight for the exit row!

The exit row has more leg room, but you cannot recline your seats.

Wrong! The seats in front of the exit rows do not recline. We have at one time or another sat in all the exit row seats, and I can assure you they all recline. We always head for the exit rows....being on the A-List and all that...and are only about 50-75% successful getting them.

Thanks for the replies, everyone! There are a lot of tall people on the DIS!

Now for the next question... there are five of us - how many seats are in each row? Is it 3 and 2 or 3 and 3?

(Can you tell I am over planning this vacation??!?!? :rotfl2:)

It's 3 & 3 on Southwest. But if you can manage to snag the exit row, one side has three and the other side has the "love seat" with just two. The love seat has no more leg room but does feel more open because of the empty space in which all other rows have another seat.
