SW Ding gotta Love it

We had our Dec flight from first Avail at $79 each way Great price was good to go.

Then our Oct trip that we booked after our Dec trip (DD school calender finally came out) we got some great deals and ended up paying $112 RT for the 3 of us .

A few weeks ago our Dec hit a Ding and dropped down to $55 each way. I thinking this is it again great price.

Well today I get another Ding for my flight down and I wasn't going to worry as it stated $49 thinking is it worth it to cancel and rebook for $18. So I run it through just to check and it came up as $40 .I quickly booked with some of my other credits then went and canceled the other flight.

I'm flying the week before X-mas for $122 RT for the 3 of us I just can't believe it.

How am I going to spend the $400 in credits I have from these 2 trips .We have a June trip booked. But this is looking like a great excuse for a spring tripas well Bring on the AP rates.

I may not be understanding your post correctly, but I think you should have cancelled your flight, received your credit, and then booked the DING fares. That's what I've done. But, I may not be understanding your situationa correctly.

Yes normally thats the way to do it.

But I already had Credits to cover the cost of the new Ding so thats why I booked first then canceled the original Ding.

If your flights stayed the same you should be able to get a refund. Dont know if that will help in your case, since you did not cancel and re-book the same trip.

If you do early flights we will see ya there maybe .We are just doing the 7:50 flight for this one . We did the 6:55 one in Oct as we got the $44 Ding for that one then.

Would someone explain it to me...a complete novice...

I have downloaded the DINGS....I am "just looking" at a SWA flight to Tampa from Providence....if I book that and the fare becomes cheaper...you can get the fare cheaper by CANCELING the flight and re-booking it at the lower fare?

Yes when you cancel you original flight you get a Ticketless Travel Voucher (TTV) Then book the Ding and when it ask for payment you enter then apply you TTV and the rest will remain a credit.

I always open 2 separate browsers .Once a Ding is for what I want I do the cancel original flight right up to the point of canceling.Then start to book the Ding (sometimes if you wait they sell out) right up to payment.Back to the cancel and get the TTV .Back to the Ding apply the TTV and I'm all set.

Now if the fare is just a sale and not a DING you just go to Travelcenter on SW web and just change it through there and get the credit.
