SW credit policy?

I know this is answered on here somewhere but I can't seem to find it so please bear with me and answer this question for the millionth time. I just booked my tickets for August and not 5 minutes later I received an offer for an interview for a new job. Now I'm jumping the gun thinking that I will get this job but if I do and I have to change my vacation how do I go about getting a SW credit and how long will I have to use it? Thanks.

You need to call Southwest. After you cancel your flight, I believe you have 1year to use the credit.
