But what exactly do they mean by Fare Class? I changed from a regular airfare to a ding rate, then back to a regular airfare and still got the credit.

I have absolutely no idea! It was unclear that I'd changed fare classes at all, and mine was "regular to regular" with no ding in between! Perhaps you were fortunate that yours went back to regular rate in the same class? I, on the other hand, will probably be eating a $95 credit, unless I can ebay it...

I just hate inconstitencies, don't you?? You will definitey be able to sell it on ebay. But there's something about that website that scares me.

That happened to my sister. Everything was the same and she got a credit. When she called about getting a refund they told her the fare class had changed. I can't remember what it was, but an example would be going from a "Wanna Get Away" fare to it being listed in the last column as an "Internet Special".
