SW CP Question

I just received my 60k bonus points for my SW biz card, and should receive an additional 50k points for my SW Premier in a few weeks when my statement closes, along with my companion pass. I want to go ahead and book part of my flights for our upcoming June trip as the prices just keep going up, and some of the Wanna Get Away fares are already sold out on the flight options. The return flight stated that there were only 5 seats left at the WGA costs. There will be 4 traveling in our party, with one of those being my CP (once I receive it). If I go ahead and purchase the 3 flights (my own plus 2), leaving off my future companion, will it be a problem to add him in a few weeks? Should I just go ahead and book for him also, then cancel his only when I get the CP? Thanks!

As long as the flight is not sold out (at any fare) you can add later.

If you are using points to book though, may as well get him a placeholder & switch it later, since you will get the points back.

Thanks! That's what I was thinking but wasn't sure and wanted reassurance. The only reason I kind of don't want to go ahead and book it for him is I need the points to book the departure flights, depending on what day we pick. Trying to decide whether to go early and add Universal or not. Flights have gone up so much since last summer it's kind of crazy! I know it's usually cheaper to book flights right when they're released, but I booked in March for June last year and rates were much lower. Oh well, I'll keep watching and get a refund if they go down. Thanks again for the response!

Keep in mind if you book his ticket as a WGA fare with money instead of points, the refund is then in a travel voucher only he can use, and he probably won't need it if hes' your CP for the year....

But remember you can use your RR points to book his flight as a place holder. Then when you get your CP you can call and they will change it to a CP ticket for you. Then the RR points you used to purchase his ticket will be returned to your acct
