I know you can earn the SW companion pass with the bonus points from the SW Chase credit cards. Can you also earn it by transferring points from the CSR card (the UR points)?

If so, I'll have more questions, but I'm wondering if it will work. Thanks in advance!

No. CSR points that are transferred directly into your RR account do not count toward the CP. I've read about ways to transfer into Marriott Rewards first and then into RR points from there. It supposedly works toward a CP but you lose value on those CSR points by doing it that way.

there are ways, but you lose quite a bit of the points value in doing it so they count for CP- usually it means transferring to a hotel program-then into SWA,but devalued- million miles secrets runs a great blog to get started on this.... google the name and search your question in there....

Thanks for the replies. I'm not sure if we're interested in devaluing the points. I'll read into to make sure it isn't worth it.

We opened Choice hotel cards just for this reason. We got the bonuses on those cards and transferred just what we needed; it was definitely devalued, I can't remember the ratio, but it was completely worth it and therefore a lot of value to us. We even had points left over for a nice stay in NYC at one of their boutique hotels. So, "value" is only what it's worth to you. I certainly wouldn't worry about losing the equivalent of one hotel night (usually much less!) to get two years of free flights!
