SW companion pass question

I completed the spend for the Southwest companion pass offer of 30,000 points plus companion pass for the rest of 2019.
The points posted to my account, the companion pass has not.
How long before I can expect it to show on my account?
 
It took mine about another week or so between points posting and being able to pick my companion. HTH!
 
I agree! Our dates come open for booking tomorrow and I was sweating if I would have the points and companion pass in time
 

You can book the tickets add the companion later. I was able to do it last year with no problem.

This is what I did, based on advice from all the great SW fliers on the DIS. Er, what I will do when I get my CP later this week! I booked DS and I on a June itinerary a while ago and will add DH, my CP, once I receive CP status for him. All advice has been that as long as there is still a seat on the plane, in any of the 3 price categories, you can add on your CP.

But I can relate to your wait! I've been chomping at the bit for a month now in anticipation of October opening up almost on the same day that I should receive my points and CP.
 
After checking frequently through out the day, my companion pass just posted!
So it posted 3 days after the points posted.
Got my companion added and ready to book last minute trip to Orlando!
 
Got mine a couple of days before the points posted. Log into your rapid rewards account and look. Companion Pass will sometimes show up in your account a day or 2 before you get the email.
 
Mine seems to be working backwards! I just verified that my Chase statement closed yesterday, I am now able to assign my companion, yet the points do not show as posted! And when I entered companion info I got an 'Oops! call us' error message. No big deal, as October dates are not open as of right now. I have to go shovel myself out of yesterday's blizzard, go to work for a few hours, and I'll check everything again when I get home tonight. I will add DH to our existing June CA itinerary and then book everybody for free to FL in October!

So I definitely agree with @Lewisc - check your SW account page to see when you are eligible for CP!

Good tip, thank you! And for those awaiting the October schedule opening up, SW moved the date from today to 3/18. :oops:
 
I just went back in to my account and the 30,000 points have posted, and DH was in fact listed as my CP. Despite the error message earlier today, it looks like it did 'take'. I can't imagine how many CPs they are issuing this month as people meet the required spend!
 
This was such a great promotion by them. Have many trips booked already with it!
 
I guess I missed reading about the companion pass promotion. I was waiting for the dates to open up past Oct 1st, and they did this morning and I booked our trip. The points were raised on the flights it seemed to me. But I did have enough to book it.
 
Thanks for the info! I should be getting mine after this months statement closes. I already booked myself and 3 kids, waiting on the companion pass for my daughter that is a competitive athlete- as she sometimes has to travel for comps.
