SW check-in with children

Our trip in Nov. will be our first time flying with SW and I am wondering if it is necessary for the children to have RR acct. #'s to check-in? My husband and I currently have accounts but the children do not. Does it make it easier if they do? I'm not too worried about accumulating points for the flights as we generally do not fly anywhere. Appreciate any help.

No, it's not necessary for everyone to have an account. I am the only one who has one for our family and the points just accumulate in that one .

Although this is very unlikely here is a reason to do so. By having an account each person gives more information: address, I think age, and maybe some other info. This allows Southwest to more closely id them. Why you ask?

Because they could, be confused with someone else on the watch list which prevents them from getting an advance boarding pass. This happened to my youngest daughter and we had to submit the TSA forms to get this cleared up. It took 6 months but it did get it cleared up. SW said a FF# helps narrow down the possible number of suspects.
