SW buying oneway vs. round trip question

So traveling 7-14 January 2017. HOPE to fly out of MHT.
Our flight down fares are CRAZY right now. However our flight home fare for the flight I want is good.
Would you buy just the return flight now and wait for the down flight price to drop and buy it later? Or would you wait for round trip tickets?

Definitely buy the return flight now. There's no benefit to buying round trip.

Yep, with Southwest, there's no real savings on bundling roundtrip. Grab the return one-way now and wait for the departure to drop.

You'll end up with two confirmation numbers, outbound and return, but that's no biggie.

Would flying out of PSM on Allegiant be cheaper? I know they don't have many flights but I think you would also save on parking.

It would not really be cheaper once I factor in transport to our resort and luggage/seat fees. It is $484 for the flight, including $100 for checked luggage and $22x4 for seats. Then I would figure Uber would be $100-150 round trip. So a total of $584. AND I would have to change my vacation dates (and now my ADRs) since they only fly out on Thursdays or Sundays (I am doing Sat to Sat).
Also, on this next trip my husband is dropping us off at the airport, just a girls-only trip this time so no parking

Thanks guys, that is what I figured. Even if I find a better deal for the way down on another carrier later, this is an OK price.

I always buy one-way on SW. Another thing I just learned since SW no longer flies direct to MCO from CAK is that I booked a one-way to ATL, then another one-way from ATL to MCO. Saved me $20 pp over just booking the CAK-MCO with a layover in ATL. Crazy! It was a lot of ticket buying, but hey, I'm thrifty so it was worth it!
