Hello All ~ Please walk me thru the SW ON-LINE Check In....

Thanks! Sandra

Hi Sandra,

Go to www.southwest.com
on the right hand side of the screen it says Check in Online
Click on it, it opens to
Enter Confirmation Number
Passenger First Name
Passenger Last Name
Click on Go
It will then show your name and your flight information
Click it if it's correct, the next page is your Boarding pass, A, B, OR C, print it.
If you don't print it you can get them to print it for you at the airport.

To get an A pass make sure you check in online 24hrs before(to the minute if you can)

Hope this helps!
Marilynn

What's the difference between A,B,C,D?

Also, we are taking CARRY-ONS only....so I still have to stand in a SW line for a boarding pass, or can I go directly to security?

THANKS! Sandra

It is the order that they load the plane. First is all the pre boards and then they load the plane with the A boarding pases and then the B's and so on.

Sandra,

When you go on to the southwest website (as Marilynn told you). just follow her instructions to get your boarding passes. There is a checkbox to print them all at once. As long as you print them out at home, you can head to the counter to check your bags. If you don't have checked luggage, then right to security with your preprinted boarding pass. :thumbsup2

I never line up if I have an A pass. I end up in the back half of the plane, but that's okay. ;) B's and C's, with four of you, I'd line up. There are @ 42 of each letter if I'm not mistaken.

Coming home, either get someone here to check you in (and then print the passes at the machines at MCO), or get the front desk to do it for you. It really IS easy, but, when you don't do it on a regular basis, it IS nerve racking!!! Have fun!

They don't have assigned seats? Sounds like as long as the four of us are A's, we will sit together?

Thanks! Sandra

If you have A's, then there will be no problem with all of you sitting together. If you have B's, then get in the line and you most likely won't have a problem either. It's the "C"s that usually end up getting split up and put throughout the plane whereever they can fit them.

We had a huge snowstorm here the day before we left in Dec ... I was out shoveling and didn't remember to do the check-in until 1 1/2 hours after the time that I could. 3 of us ended up with A's, and my DS6 got a "B". they allowed all of us to be in the A-line though so it was fine.

Are the planes usually three-seats per row? Do you suggest I sit two of us in one row and two in another row? Or take 3-seats to complete a row and dh sit alone with two strangers? Thanks! Sandra

All of SWA planes ar 3 - 3 configuration.
What we do is have 3 together and then I take the passageway seat right across (4 in a row,in other words)

Is it possible to check in 24 hours ahead of time and get 2 and 2? There are four of us going, two mom's with two DD's. I know my daughter and her friend would both want a window.

Because the rows are staggered a bit, it's not the most comfortable for one person to be turning around sort of to talk to the other person. We always split up 2/2, so that there's 2 window seats. :goodvibes anything the kids might want during the flight are in their backpacks under the seat in front of them, and we do our best to not to use the bathroom, so that we're not disturbing the person in the aisle seat with us. We sit behind the other 2 in our party so that we can pass the wonderful Gameboy between the kids. :rotfl:

If you or DH are happy with not doing too much talking, and sitting by yourself and reading, then do the "3+1" combo, so that if the kids need to hit the bathroom, it's only yourselves that have to move. I personally am just a big kid when it comes to flying, so I don't like being on the aisle as I like to be able to see a bit out the window. :rolleyes1

They don't have assigned seats, which means that if you are in the A group, you pretty much pick where you want to sit. In the A group you could certainly both have window seats, but there will be two strangers sitting in both aisle seats.
We sat 3 and together, and then DH sat across the aisle in an aisle seat. That way, the kids could leave when needed and switch if necessary.

Do they shuffle everyone to the back of the plane or can we pick seats up front if we were one of the first on the plane? Thanks! S

Most people sat at the front, but you could sit anywhere you like. It is just like riding a bus.

Will they do this for you at your resort???

Or.....should I do it online and then have them print it out when I arrive at MCO, if so......where do they print it out??

AFAIK they can check you in at your resort. Some people have said that the desk required they actually be there at the time of check-in, others have not. Also, I believe they can check you in at guest services at the parks. You can also check in via a web-enabled cell phone, or have someone check you in online at home, or yourself if you have internet access.

Where do you have it printed out then????

Just one more question.............how much time in advance should I be at the airport?

I would say at least 2hrs if you don't have a boarding pass and 90 minutes if you do. However, early morning can be very busy with security at BUF. I also found from noon on it is busy at MCO.
