I would like to print out boarding passes from home but can't because we are all on the same res. #. Since out flight is at 6:00pm and we won't be at the airport before 4:00pm to checkin, do you think we will end up in catagory 3 seating? Is there anyway to get seperate res. numbers after the fact? TIA

You can only gate check so far in advance for your flight anyhow. They also only issue a limited number of A's online. This guarantee's that airport check-in's can get A's too.

I called SWA and our tickets were quickly separated into two separate reservation #'s by a very helpful and pleasant agent. Many other have posted the same thing. Try that. The airlines might be swamped with calls re: rebooking flights affected by the hurricane, so if you can wait a few days, that would probably be appreciated.
Of course, if you have a child under 4, you'll probably be able to pre-board.

If you use the check in at curbside. (Get there two hours early like the airlines suggest) I almost always find that I wind up with an A boarding passes. It is easy and simple to do. Just drive up to the southwest curbside check in. Give the sky captain the info he needs. He will then print your boarding passes and check your luggage. It is customary to tip 1 dollar per bag. And a little more if you feel the service deserves it.

No lines. No Worries. No Fuss. No Need to print on line boarding passes.

After that all you have to do is go inside the airport and head toward your terminal and gate.
