I did online check out for our flight tomorrow. This is my first time using SW and am nervous about getting seats together since it is just me and my two kids. Long story short, our reservation ended up split into 3, so I had to check in 3 seperate times. We got A 31, 45, 48. Do you think we will have trouble sitting together? Also, I did not think about it ahead of time, but my youngest is the A48 pass and even though he is 11 I dont' like the idea of boarding and leaving him behind me, even for a few minutes. Do you think I could switch with him?

Thanks!

If it were me, I'd just line up everyone with him at A47. Simpler.

Since you're all in the A group, you should have NO problem!

This has happened to us twice before and they just let the last person come up with the first person. I booked 4 of us and the first 3 were in the A group and the 4th person was B but the SW rep still told our 4th person to just line up with us.

Don't count on SWA allowing anyone to board out of order BEFORE their assigned spot. I have seen people with B passes turned away when trying to board with someone in their party who had an A pass. You will have no problem boarding AFTER your assigned spot. Given that there should be absolutely no reason you won't be able to sit together if you board at A48, I can think of no reason to try to line jump in these circumstances. (Of course I wouldn't try to line jump regardless, but that's just me.)

There are 130 seats on a 737. If you board together at A48 you will have no difficulty - at all! - obtaining seats together. :confused3

Hi! If you really want to get someone on as soon as possible, the person with the 31 could board & pick a middle seat a few rows back. The other 2, with the 45 & 48 will be in the same group. They could just line up together behind nos. 46 & 47 & then join no. 31 when they board. Since there are so few nos. between, I'm sure there will be no problem "saving" the seats for the other 2. ( yes I know, technically, you're not supposed to "save" seats, but I really don't think it will be a problem for this short of a time!):)

I agree, just all three board with the A48. Afterall you're letting folks board before you for the other 2 spots. However, don't plan to stand at A31 and bring the other 2 up....that won't fly. But I'm sure having A31 and A45 letting the others go ahead will not be a problem at all.

You should have no trouble all boarding with 48. The first 15 positions are usually not all filled.

I just flew home on SW on Saturday night. I didn't get to City Hall to get my boarding pass until about an hour and 15 min after the 24 hour mark. I got B31. Luckily I ended up in row 2! There was an empty seat on the aisle.

Another vote for boarding with the highest number BP - even if you did get say 48, 49 and 50 as those are great numbers anyway. There are 120 +/- seats on the aircraft and having 48 at most board before you will leave plenty of empty rows.

Depending on the folks on your flight some are pretty protective of their number - so I wouldn't "expect" to board with the lower number and the gate agent will side with the person who has the lower number.

It's just IMHO easier and less stressful to board together with the highest number - its happened to us a couple times when using a mobile phone to check in.

You should all be able to line up at the A31 space. If you have to split up, with your low numbers, you should be able to sit together unless the plane has come from somewhere else and your stop is an intermediate one.

If you are anywhere in the A group there is no need to worry about getting seats together. Moving back and boarding with your son is the easiest option.
