Sushi

I will be traveling with my 20 year old daughter in May and she loves sushi. Mom is not much of a fan, so any suggestions for restaurants that I can have something also?

California Grill has great sushi. Kona at the Polynesian now has a sushi bar also. You could also try Wolfgang Puck's Cafe.

Dh loves sushi, I don't. We ate at Kimonos at the Swan and he said it was some of the best sushi he has ever had. I ate the soup, rice, and kobe beef which was delicious.

my favs in order are:
Tokyo Dining - in food lust with the dynamite roll, everything we have tried there is very fresh
Kimonos - at the Swan. they also have karaoke at night. Sushi here has been consistantly yum

CG was ok the last time we were there. It was not as good as Tokyo Dining the night we were there

I have not tried the new sushi bar at Kona. Hope to try it next month at Kona. The nice thing is DH is not a 'bait eater' so Kona could work really well for us

As for pucks, have not been back in almost 2 years. The last time there, party of 4, no one had a great meal. I agree the sushi used to be amazing. But not so much last time. Something had changed and it was not the same at all. Not the service, the food or the atmosphere. Very disappointing

So Mom, I would advise taking her to Kona where she can get sushi and you can have regular kona menu or Tokyo Dining, not as much for non-sushi lovers, but if you like some of the cooked rolls and Tempura you can do ok (then go grab some yummy pastry in France )

I have heard that about Pucks - but I am still a fan of Ca. Grill sushi. My favorite is the Tuna Three Ways.

I must say that I haven't tried Tokyo Dining though.

I went to Kimonos once with my mother, but we ordered only sushi. I don't know what they have other than sushi. The sushi was awesome.
