Hello.

we are getting ready to leave for the 4 day wonder departing on Nov 9th. My wife and I are big sushi fans and were wondering if there was a place on board to get some.

Thanks

There is no dedicated sushi bar or restaurant, if that's what you mean. They may offer *some* sushi at dinner.

On the seven day cruises on the Magic they have an oriental buffet for lunch one day and had lots of sushi then. Not sure if the Wonder does this or not.

i was hoping for a sushi bar -- but wasn't expecting it. I guess that type of eating establishment is not geared toward families so much.

Oh well...

I see you guys are from Clearwater... we just moved to the Tampa area (opposite side of the bay though). I have yet to find a great sushi place so far, do you know of any? -- we are willing to travel far and wide for good sushi. :)

Thanks

The 4-night Wonder cruise also has an oriental lunch buffet that offers sushi; I can't remember if it's on the Nassau day or the Freeport/At Sea day.

I'm sure there is some bait left over from some of the fishing excursions;)

Riverside? We've been through that area to see friends.

I'm sure that there are some really great sushi places in the bay area but I haven't been able to experience them! Travis doesn't care too much for "exotic" foods  and so I don't get to eat them too much either. What can I say, he's from Nebraska!

adambreakey : The sushi at the lunch buffet is very limited. Limited to some simple rolls and cooked items. Hope this helps!

I sure hope the sushi is served on the FIRST day of the cruise... I wouldn't want to eat 4-day-old fish.

They did have some sushi on the Magic at a lunch buffet in Parrot Cay, I would have to say it was more like "sushi" than sushi. I ordered the California Roll on the appetizer menu the night it was offered and again, it was more like an interpretation of a California Roll. I believe it was wrapped in a tortilla! I remember me and my tablemates examining it with great interest.

Maybe I just caught the items on an off day (or night) and its usually better. But I'd like to see DCL bring a really good sushi chef on board!

It's a bit of a hike from Tampa, but the california grill has fabulous sushi.

Us too!!! Several at our table ordered it, but I don't think anyone actually ended up eating much of it! It was definitely not traditional california roll or sushi.

I missed the sushi on the lunch buffet.

Adam - will look for our fellow 11/9 Tampa cruisers on board...we're going to miss the Bucs game, but we're going to have great fun!

A great sushi place in Tampa is Profusion at the International Mall (near the airport). Another place is Rice Co. at Citrus Park Mall.
I would think some other places along South Howard (SoHo District...of Tampa, not London) offer sushi...I think SideBerns does, but neither SideBerns nor Profusion are inexpensive.

See ya onboard in 2 days!!!

JOC, it was the day at sea. They had some type of oriental buffet the 3rd day on our Wonder trip. Not as authentic as we're used to. No unagis, sashimis, real kanis, or kakis. We went straight to Isobune in Japantown (San Francisco) the week after our trip. For everybody in Tampa, I noticed Todai's (which is a big franchise Japanese/Seafood restaurants here in the Bay Area) has a restaurant over there. I'd highly recommend it to all the sushi lovers.

Thanks for the recommendations for good sushi in the Tampa area. -- My wfe works right near International mall, so maybe I will meet her for dinner there one day after work.

gswfan - i ate great sushi a little while ago in the san fran area.... it was actually in Saulsalito (sp?) - I think it was called Sushi Ran or Ra -- not exactly sure... but it was great. I love SF, if it were on the east coast we would be living there. :)

Nick - see you on the boat, we are heading to WDW tomorrow morning and staying at the Swan, then off to the ship in the morning. Missing the football game is tough -- i don't miss many of them. Gotta love NFL sunday ticket on Directv. :teeth:

Thanks again.

Hey, ThreeCircles, why are you bashing Nebraska? I guess I didn't know Clearwater was the haute cuisine capitol of the world!!
