Survivor: Palau...official Thread

I have no problem if the President wants to schedule Prime Time NEws conferences. The problem is, this president has a habbit of scheduling stuff like this last minute. It is a major pain for the networks to have to scramble and reschedule the commercials and programming. It is also a pain for those of us who would rather read about what he said in the paper.

So since I am at work and can't re-set my TiVo, I have no idea whether or not I will be able to watch this episode of Survivor. If Apprentice gets pushed back, at least I can record it on CNBC.

You're right these things always do seem to be last minute--It seems to me they used to have these speeches scheduled at lease a but in advance. I hadn't thought about the Apprentice--I hope I get to see this too. Oh well, fingers crossed.

Per CBS website:
8:00 pm Presidential News Conference
9:00 pm Survivor
10:00 pm CSI

And on the Survivor area, it lists Survivor at 8:00 pm, Special East Coast Airtime, 9:00 pm

OMG! I didnt realize the President was going on until I put the tv on at 8pm and didnt see Survivor! Thanks for letting me know it's on at 9

Wow, I guess it is evident what's important in the World huh...that is pretty sad! I have absolutely no problem with the president interrupting programming--after all people regardless of how you voted or feel, he is the President. What I don't like is the 30 minutes after for commentary and analysis...the networks will usually come back with--no back to Survivor ALL READY IN PROGRESS. That may work for some shows, but NOT Survivor. You have to see it ALL.

I agree-that it's sad that the president's political agenda takes precedence over prime time television. The fact that he IS the president does not impress me one little bit. I just watched part of his speech and he's saying the same thing over and over again, even admitted it by saying, "in other words" like we were stupid or something. He made a point to pronounce
nuclear as "nuculer", he stopped and emphasized it. What a yokel. Sorry, nothing could put George W Bush anywhere near the top of my IMPORTANT list.

But, I thought it would never happen that I would be joining the liberals and calling for a recall effort! We need a president with the right priorities!

Welcome to the dark side ;).

Well, now that it is over, I am kinda glad it was Steph. I am glad Tom didn't get voted off.

Okay - I only caught the last 10 minutes of the show, so I saw tribal council, but what happened tonight? Anything important or exciting?

I liked Tom a lot in the beginning until I saw how hard of a player Steph is/was. Tom and Steph are both very strong and very competitive. I give more credit to Steph though because she got to this point with little to NO help, whereas Tom has gotten to this point with the backing of his entire tribe.

Yeah well, some of us still have respect for the office even if you didnt vote for the man--Our process as Americans is worth honoring our President!!!

Regarding tonight's episode:

The Reward Challenge was a food auction. Each of them were given $500 in real US cash, and they had to bid on covered items. Steph and Caryn pooled some money and won a double cheeseburger, fries, and a coke, which they split. Ian won a spaghetti dinner with garlic bread. Greg had thrown in $20 of his own money for a bite of it. lol Ummm one of the blondes won an ice cream sundae. Not Katie, the other one. lol Then at the end, Jeff brought home letters from home for all of them. They had to bid on them. Tom won the bid at $220, to get his letter. After Tom got his letter, Jeff told the rest of them that they could each buy their own letters for $220 each. I know that Ian didn't have enough money left to buy his. I'm not sure if anyone else wasn't able to buy theirs or not. Oh yeah, Ian won a cold beer at the auction for $40.

The women discussed forming an alliance against the men, but apparently it didn't go that way

The Immunity Challenge was where they all had to take turns tossing coconuts onto a large sheet of colored ceramic tiles, they had to try and break their own color. Ian won that and won immunity.

I think that's all the highlights!

Does Katie annoy anyone else as much as she does me???? I don't know why but ugh!

Katie doesn't bug me exactly, but I am trying to figure out why she isn't skinny like the rest of them! LOL I keep telling my DH that someone must be feeding her on the side. LOL (Not that she's fat, obviously, but she's the only contestant that I've ever seen NOT lose a lot of weight, especially at this point of the show!)

Oh Man...NOT ME!! I was hoping she would pull it out--WHAT A LAME CHALLENGE...did Ian even knock one of his out at all. It showed absolutley NOTHING that challenge...Just that you better hope someone hits yours--COME ON SURVIVOR can you not do better than that?

Okay so there is only one left who justly deserves the title and he has a target next! Good grief someone like Jen or Katie will be the winner--LAME!

Does anyone else think that Jen is a dead ringer for Cameron Dias?

Actually out of his 5 red tiles, I know he knocked out at least 3 of them himself, maybe even 4! :)

I am sorry to see Steph leave. I think the women will regret not keeping Stephanie and an all-women alliance.

Ian knocked almost all of his out on his own, he did great at that challange! The only one he didn't do himself was the last one.

I'm with you on that one. But for me the only good day for Mr. Empty Head to show up on my TV is Sat. That is the day I am out of the house or I'm watching shows that I had to tape during the week. I do have a dead hour on Mon from 8 to 9pm or on Wed from 8 to 9pm.

I SAY WE ALL CALL THE WHITE HOUSE AND TELL THEM TO DO IT ON ANOTHER NIGHT!

My feeling is they should put it on ONE channel and if you want to watch it then go to that channel! As soon as he comes on I have to go to some cable station that doesn't televise him! We don't need 10 channels all broadcasting that crap!!

Can we go back to the topic at hand...Survivor? I would hope that I could look at a Survivor thread without Bush bashing....guess not.
