Survivor and the immunity idol.

I have to add something and I hope no one takes it as racist or nasty. Does anyone else notice how each Survivor has the token black, token gay or lesbian, old man, old woman, etc.? And each one is also a perfect stereotype.

I've noticed that also. They always go to the extreme. I guess they are trying to make you think the worst of everyone.

She should not have gone off like she did over the idol. They are not worshiping the idol! Besides, she knew when she signed up for the show in the first place that they have the immunity idols. Her attutide is not at all what I want others to think a true Christian acts like.

Yep, I've noticed that too, Skiwee.

As for the idol and Joanna -- she shouldn't have joined the program if she knew about the immunity idol and she felt that way about idols. And how could she not know about the immunity idol before applying?

Things like this make me shake my head on every Survivor!

Why go on show if you can't tolerate something like the "idol" in your camp. I thought the same thing about Christy. Did she think that after the sun set all her teammates would stop talking just so she wouldn't be at a disadvantage?

Why do people try to "take charge" and boss people around? That kind of person is almost always one of the first to go.

My exact words when watching the show and hearing Joanna go on and on about the idol were "WHAT A MORON!" An idol is something that you worship and they don't always come in the form of a little carved dolly, many things can be idols. I also thought it was stupid to come on the show knowing that it was part of the game. If you know something is going to offend you then don't participate in it. The way she treated Christy was horrible, I really wish they would have voted her out. I think the women's team will self destruct if they don't change things soon.

Not to defend Joanna because she is really annoying, but it wouldn't surprise me if when she was trying out for the show if they might have said "this time it isn't going to be an idol" or something.

Did anyone notice the very first time Jeff brought out the idol and passed it around so everybody could touch it he singled out Joanna and said "did you get to touch it Joanna" and she said "I'm fine". I wondered then what was up with her and the idol so I feel like the producers knew ahead of time that this was an issue with her. I dunno.

Actually, I'll bet the people who chose Joanna DID know it was an issue, and chose her anyway to toss some new strange drama into the midst of this particular series.

I did notice that. At the time, I thought it might be because the idol looks like it is wearing "blackface" make-up and that she was offended because of that.
