Survivor All Star OFFICIAL THREAD!

Lex got what he deserved. 3 weeks ago he screwed Colby over, 2 weeks ago, he screwed Ethan over and last week he screwed Jerri over. It was his turn and he got it. Too bad, so sad. Don't go crying friendship after all of that.

I feel the same way. Although I do think Rob's disloyalty was worse because he had deliberately led Lex to believe they had a specific deal.

I thought Lex was either playing a brilliant game, or a very stupid game when he got rid of Colby and Ethan. It could have worked out either way. But he sealed his own doom when he kept Amber. And after making such bold moves in evicting the strong team members, leaving the decision to keep/evict Amber to Kathy was not a shining moment.

Oh, he also said that it was editing that made him look shocked that Kathy didn't give him immunity. He did not expect it

He also said he had urged Kathy not to give it to him because he did not want to stay in the game that way.

And once again they mess with the editing to make it look like Kathy's decision to keep immunity was done on the spot and that Lex was shocked by this. And to what purpose? What did they accomplish by trying to make us believe that Kathy had stabbed Lex in the back, other than to make Kathy look bad?

Lex probably feels really stupid for keeping Amber in the game...Oh well, I don't really like Lex.

deadheadbelle - can you post any more of Lex's comments from the Early Show? I'd love to hear exactly WHY he believed Rob would "take care of him" if he took care of Amber. Thanks!
I saw the Early Show interview. Lex said that he had become friends with Rob thru charity events they had both been at. It sounded like he almost became like a big brother to Rob; Lex was the one Rob would call when he had trouble with girlfriends, was thinking of breaking up with someone, etc. I got the idea that they had contact with each other quite often. So, it sounded like Lex trusted Rob like a brother and never thought that Rob would not "take care of him" if that was what he promised.
I agree with faithinkarma that Rob's disloyalty was worse than what Lex did to Colby, Ethan and Jerri because Rob deliberately used a friendship to make a lie believable (although why anyone who saw Rob in his original Survivor shows would ever believe him is beyond me).

What really bothered me about Lex this morning was when he said "I know everyone sitting at home on their couches is saying 'it's a game!' But it's more than a game to us who are there, it is life". Whatever, it is a game, it's about winning a million dollars. What I have enjoyed most about this being an All-Star show is knowing that everyone has been there before & they understand that it is a game & up to now no one has gotten their feelings hurt (disappointed, yes; hurt, no). Lex is taking himself and the game too seriously, IMHO.

I don't know if Kathy's point is going to go far with the rest of the tribe if she tries the "look what he did to Lex approach". The others are probably just so glad Rob is sticking with the original alliance, the one Jenna & Rupert were so happy about at the reward.

Right now I would be happy to see Rupert, Jenna or Amber win it all.

Hi. This is my first post on this board so please don't be too hard on me ;)

I can't believe how much people hate Boston Rob! I think he is great! He is playing the game, and I think the show would be terribly boring without him. So far, I think he deserves to win more than any of the others. I don't see any of the others coming up with good strategies. They are all following Rob like sheep.

Lex screwed up big time and deserved to go home. I'm curious to see what Kathy will be able to come up with next week. She is way too emotional and lets that get in the way of the game IMHO.

I won't be hard on you.......'cuz I agree with you! ;) I love Boston Rob. I thought he was hysterical in Marquesas. When he got the boot there, the show was not nearly as much fun to watch.

I might be wrong, but during the previews, it looked like after Kathy & Shii Ann were talking to Big Tom about getting rid of Jenna, they talked to Rupert! Maybe I didn't follow the preview correctly, but if they went to Rupert with the idea of getting rid of Jenna, they are totally nuts.

Lex got back what he did to Ethan and Jerri. In Lex's own words this isn't about freindship it is a business arrangment.

I like Rob but I feel like people give him too much power. I think he'll get turned on sometime soon.

Can someone tell me about the challenges last night? I missed the show and didn't get to tape it. Thanks!

If none of my favorites can win, I would dearly love to see this happen:

Amber wins it all and looks at Rob and says " you didn't think I meant any of that did you?"

OMG! I don't know if any of you get "Good Day Live", but if you do & it hasn't been on, watch it today. Lex was just on & he makes me so mad. He is just trying to make Rob look so awful it is ridiculous. He kept making little comments about how "it's obvious what kind of guy he is....blah blah blah". Then he said "I'm a guy who when measuring money & friendship, will always put friendship first". He is so full of crap. I wish I could have called in & asked him about his "this is not about friendship, it's about business" conversation he had with Ethan. Can you say "SORE LOSER!!" I can't remember who said it, but you are right. Lex was a big baby when he lost in Africa, too.

chell, the reward challenge was a water challenge. It went in stages starting with all 9 survivors. There were 7 pots at the bottom of the ocean & the seven that got pots moved on. It then went to 7 people seeking 5 pots; 5 people seeking 3 pots. The final three (Lex, Rupert & Rob) had to get a crate off the bottom of the ocean & carry it to the shore. Rupert won & took Amber & Jenna with him to a beautiful Island resort for 1 night.

The immunity challenge involved swimming to the bottom & releasing bowies (sp?). It was girls vs. girls & boys vs. boys. There were two immunities (one for the boys & one for the girls). It came down to Rob vs. Lex & Rob won the men's immunity. For the ladies, it was Amber vs. Kathy & Kathey won.

BTW, I'm sure you figured it out, but there was a merge.

I'm new to this thread also, and I have a question since I haven't been able to read all 68 pages...

What is up with some of the counting being posted, like "DIS ALLSTARS 11,333" (or similar)?

To get to Rob vs. Lex and Amber vs. Kathy, everyone participated in an underwater breath holding contest. The 2 men and the 2 women who held their breath the longest then competed head to head in the buoy (?maybe that's the spelling?) releasing contest.

Was anyone else surprised to see the two immunities?

Welcome to the Survivor Thread, Cheyita and Ursula!!!:wave2:

To answer your question, many of us are in Survivor Fantasy leagues at CBS.com. Those are scores.

If none of my favorites can win, I would dearly love to see this happen:

Faithinkarma: LOL!!! Your username SO suits you (and this is NOT the first time I thought that about you!)!! I love it!

Thanks for the answer.

I just discovered the American Idol discussion and now this one - and I continue to really enjoy this online community!

BTW, while I basically liked Lex, I think he deserved what he got yesterday. Although I was thrilled when he turned on Jerri, because I couldn't stand her.

I'm pulling for Big Tom. I wanted him to win in Africa. And, yes, Shii-Ann is certainly making it far under the radar. I noticed she voted against Lex too. And what's up with Alicia? I noticed no one from her tribe included her when naming the alliance. If she can hook up with Shii-Ann, Kathy and pull someone else from the alliance...hmmm....

Rob is entertaining, and I can't decide if I like him or not. We definitely need characters like him to make the show interesting, and he is a tough competitor. I can't begrudge him any success he's having.

Finally, a few people standing up for Rob :) I was afraid to post anything in support of him for fear of being ripped to shreds...lol

My opinions of those left, from best to worst:

Rob - I think he's hilarious...I also think he's played brilliantly, and is probably as "in control" of the tribe as anyone has ever been. At the same time, I could see a little alliance forming around Cathy, Rupert, Shiann, and Jenna to get rid of him...but they better move soon, or the game is his to lose. Oh, and don't EVER say "he can't win"...just look at the very 1st winner to see that it actually does sometimes go to the most deserving rather than the person that kept their head down.

Ambuh - She could easily just disappear into Rob's shadow, but I like the way she's handled herself, particularly when getting hosed by being put on the other tribe for one vote.

Alicia - I couldn't stand her in her previous incarnation...too pushy. This time, though, makes me wonder if it was just editing or a direct personality conflict that caused her to look that way.

Big Tom - Actually, he used to be a bit higher on my list, but he's starting to get on my nerves a bit.

Rupert - Or "aquaman" as he's come to be known around our house...I just don'w buy that he's quite as goofy as he comes off...I honestly think that he is the biggest threat to Rob remaning in the game at this point.

Kathy - I really like Kathy, but I liked her more before she got so friggin' weepy on last night's show...lol...I realize that she was mad about Rob changing his plans, but she could have actually tried to do something about it instead of just whining around....She was almost as bad as Lex (but not quite)

Jenna - Not a big fan of hers, but she's playing a pretty decent game at this point. I still think she'll be the first of Rob's initial alliance to get the axe...

ShiAnn - In real life, she may be a wonderful person, but I can't stand her on the show. She's just about done (in my opinion) anyway, as I think she's gonna be the next one gone.

As for poor wittle Wexie....Cry me a friggin' river...lol...Two weeks after "It's not about friendship, it's about business" he's crying about Rob choosing the best move for him to make in the game over his friendship with Lex ? Boo-friggin-hoo :-) I actually liked Lex for the most part, but last night was just ridiculous.

Ok....I'll stop now so you guys can go back to ripping poor Rob to shreds :)

I completely disagree with your assessment of Lex's behavior.

When he dumped Ethan, he did NOT have an alliance with him. He had made him no promises. And because he was his friend outside the game he went to Ethan and told him he was going to vote for him. That is when he explained it was not about friendship.

What Rob did was make a deal with him ( at least lead Lex to believe they had a deal ) to get something he needed, then once he got it he completely ignored that deal. Just like earlier in the show Rob shook hands with someone then promptly went against his word.

Part of the game? Sure. No doubt. But do those who got screwed by Rob get to feel betrayed? Yep, they do in my book.

So, what you're saying is that it's ok to stab a friend in the chest, just not in the back, right ?

Rob could EASILY have kept his mouth shut and said nothing at all to Lex...just let him be surprised at Tribal that night. Instead, he told him that he was choosing to honor his original commitments and that he wouldn't be able to help him as he'd promised.

Lex COULD have got with Kathy, gone after Shiann, Jenna, Rupert, and even Big Tom to try to get rid of Amber last night and Rob at the first opportunity. Instead, he whined and Kathy cried...so I don't really see how he should be receiving a heckuva lot of sympathy at this point.

The situations were pretty much the same...Only difference was that Ethan didn't cry about it on all the morning shows...

JMO...
