Survivor 49 - Watching? Thoughts?

I've been watching and love yellow Hina team. They work together on every challenge.
Not a fan of the blue team. I feel bad that they continually lose. But they don't work as a team.
I don't really like Savannah on the red team. There is something about her that just makes me not like her.

When did they stop giving them rice at the beginning? Was it starting after COVID? I was watching before COVID and have been watching when they started back up with this new program type. I don't like this set up.

Boston Rob (who lives in the Pensacola area) was in "Deal or No Deal Island," and he got penalized for looking at another person's puzzle when they completed it. They didn't put the cover over it, so he looked at it. So he ended up being eliminated at the finale.

I don't like them withholding flint and a machete until a team wins something. All is does is weaken the weak teams and strengthen the strong ones. Over and over, we see the team without flint go back to tribal again and again. It seems like Sophie was really suffering last night. That wasn't entertaining or kind.
I agree. In my opinion just another way of production trying to influence the outcome

I wish they had only two tribes at the beginning. I would love for them to divide up the blue team to merge with the other two tribes so some could go "vibe" but mainly so they could all eat.

Based on the comments they included before the challenge, I thought Jason was going to finish his puzzle and then run over and help the blue team. It ended up that blue was so far behind that nothing would have helped them.

Usually when someone is pulled or quits, the remaining players don't need to vote anyone off. I was surprised that they went through with it.

Yeah but in this case they likely wanted to speed up a merge. That team is hopeless.

My understanding is that this happens if the immunity challenge has already been finished and therefore no need for the losing tribe to vote someone out. It does seem to be a bit fuzzy because in this instance the med evacuated player came from the eventual losing tribe.

I tuned in late. What happened to Jake? Was there a problem with his wife's pregnancy?

I tuned in right when they were going to start the challenge and Jeff asked if they were good to start.

Well..he had the soles of his feet barely at edge of surf....10x poisonous then a rattlesnake bit him because he was posing as competition and thankfully not as prey.... because the bite was a common dry bite free of venom and you missed all the behind the scenes infrastructure... they actually have staff in camp protecting them... I guess staff member was on break

I'm glad it wasn't a complication with the baby.

I'm glad it wasn't a complication with the baby.
....and that was the drama... they had footage of him sharing.... before the snake... what am I doing here... what am I doing here...in the end he thought the odds of winning was good for the baby.... so he had a beach moment... could be a top 10 survivor moment

I hope Jake is able to come back for a different season--maybe 50? I heard 2 players from 49 were going to be there. Sucks to go out on a snake bite. But, it was the right thing, "dry" bite or not.

Right after the doc told them he was not comfortable sending Jake back out there in the condition he was in, primarily lack of food/water/fatigue, they posted on the tv a picture of Jake holding his newborn baby saying that Jake is fine and that he actually made it home in time for his baby's birth due to the evac.

I think that's the first snake bite they've ever had, those are certainly not something to play around with so I'm sad that he had to leave, was wondering how the game would go with him since he was the stronger physically speaking player on his team but glad it was considered a dry bite

I liked Jeremiah so was disappointed he went home but can for sure agree that tribe was going nowhere

Yesterday I was seeing so many TikTok videos about the Survivor episode. So many theories saying that it was staged, he wanted to quit to be with his wife, they pulled him for being dehydrated and hungry. The timing was convenient and like someone mentioned in one of the videos, why wasn't it filmed? There was obviously a camera man there. If it was me, I would have been saying to get me out of here and make sure I was okay. I heard there is another round of injections that a person has to have regarding the venom, even though they said it was a dry bite. I did find it odd that they still had to vote someone out. Like it was mentioned above, a person being evacuated or quitting usually takes the spot of someone being voted out.

So in the episode before they did show the snake live in the water and 2 of them running back from tide line for.... next on survivor.. usually a animal is shown to illustrate a personality....I love snakes so perked my antention... and there was a commercial showing medical attention that I referenced several posts back .... sure there are some things don't jive... but he was a correction officer and him being selected could very well be his.... "ROSEBUD"
