Survivor 48--Who's Watching?

I think Joe would have won, if it had been Kyle and Kamila with him at the end. I don't think Kamila went so far as to throw the fire challenge or anything, but she and Kyle were smart enough to know that they couldn't both be there.

I saw the Joe got to throw out the first pitch at an Oakland A's game the other day--good for him!

I was glad Kyle won. I also think Kamilla didn't try very hard in the fire making challenge, she knew they both couldn't be in the final. I thought it was funny when David asked his question at the finals, I was glad to see he didn't turn into a weirdo like I thought he did.

I'm glad Kyle won!! He and Kamilla were really the only ones that outwitted and outplayed everyone. Keeping their alliance a secret the whole game was pure genius. I loved the look on Joe and Eva's faces when Kyle and Kamilla revealed they were actually the ones that conceived the plan to blindside Shauhin.

Also thought it was interesting when Jeff asked, on the after show, who would have voted for Kamilla and they all raised their hands.

I think IMO Kyle was the one that had to put his neck out there the most with his alliance with Kamilla. By that I mean he was the person who had to act the most trying to blend in with the other alliances and show he was with them. Kamilla didn't have to do that because Kyle was doing it for her. So Kamilla took on the role of the person who from other player's perspectives as the one who had to keep fighting for her spot, had to really work at it and I mean she did do well at certain challenges. So most of them would have voted for Kamilla because they didn't get to see just how much Kyle actually was doing. He was the one that had to work to keep Kamilla around by getting other players off her scent and to target someone else to vote off.

I think Kyle did most of the work and game planning between him and Kamilla but it took Kamilla understanding as well as acting on her part to other players around her for it to also work. I was super surprised when Kamilla and Kyle were talking about just how little time they actually could strategize together, that takes some real jiving to be able to have looks or quick snippets of a conversation and then know what you're supposed to do.

I was rooting for either Kamilla or Kyle but felt Kyle over Kamilla was very deserving of the final win. :thumbsup2

It was classic to see the looks on Eva and Joe's faces when the other "secret" pair was revealed.

See everyone for Survivor 49.

I was just reading Joe's Entertainment Weekly interview and it's so interesting to hear how he views himself as a very competitive person and yet I saw none of that.

This part was interesting to me in the interview where they were going over how he viewed the last tribal council and his second aspect to the questioning related to that last tribal council:
"I still thought I had a good dog in the fight, but you see the eye-rolls, you see the body language, and and I hate to say this part too, but you kind of wonder like, "Man, how many came in like 60% already loaded? Yeah, they gave us a shot, but how many did?" And you don't know. Or again, I just default to: Well, I must have not done what they wanted. I've got to take ownership somehow. That was me."

The interesting part to me is that he thinks it's more of he didn't do what the jury wanted him to do...which I mean yeah..he didn't really well do anything other than protect Eva. What was on his resume of Survivor gameplay other than that and being physically good at challenges?

I know some people wanted Joe to win but he really didn't show up for Survivor. Like someone mentioned his background story about his sister (what an absolutely tragic thing for him to carry) initially looked like maybe they were trying to show who would win but now that I look at it I think it was foreshadowing just how much that guilt may have made him latch onto Eva and essentially see Eva as a sister. You have to wonder if that hadn't been the case would he have played a much different game. But like someone else mentioned he did flip very fast on Shauhin despite seemingly being very tight on him. Also in the interview it said he felt Shauhin would have voted for him but that probably would have been hard when you flipped fast and voted him out when up until that point y'all had been tight as a group together. So maybe he would have made other errors that wouldn't have gotten him to the final 3 when normally physically strong competitors don't last nearly that long.

I thought Kamilla was foolish to think only one of them could be in the final 3. Kyle should have taken her as his number 2 and had Joe and Eva make fire.

Joe would have got 2 votes at the most and Eva would have maybe got 3 votes. Eva and Joe burned too many bridges with their previous alliances to win.

Eva was counting on four votes - Mary, Star, David and Cedric. She said she thought David would respect her loyalty.

I can see it coming down to this. That's too close for comfort.

Kyle - David, Shauhin, Mary?
Kamilla - Star, Mitch, Chrissy, Mary?
Joe - Cedric, Eva

Kyle - David, Shauhin, Cedric
Kamilla - Star, Mitch, Chrissy
Eva - Joe, Mary

Except they all said they would have voted for Kamilla if she made it to F3.

I think there was too much focus on the Joe and Eva relationship; the producers/editors didn't give us much on Kamilla to see WHY she would have unanimously won. I had a good vibe from her at the start, but I feel like she wasn't as highlighted as that core 4 alliance.

I agree. I was very surprised they would all have voted for Kamilla. :confused3

Wasn't there an episode awhile back where most wanted to vote her out and Kyle had to help sway the vote?

I think it was easy for them to say they all would have voted for Kamilla after the fact when she wasn’t even in the final three. But I’m not really sure how it would have all panned out if she were pitted against Kyle. Kyle could have sold himself pretty well as the mastermind behind the moves over Kamilla.

Is David trying to say he was acting this entire time? If so, it comes off as lame. I would rather have Sai on the jury than David.

Cedrek said David turned into serious-face David as they walked the path into tribal. Only the jury members knew he wasn't serious.
