My thoughts exactly. Not deep thinkers, this bunch! And the show is going to have to play up on the harsh conditions to make it interesting because game play will not be there this season (especially disappointing after last season's FANTASTIC game play every minute). It was a reward challenge, not an immunity challenge. And the reward was pathetic at that. Coffee? I don't even drink coffee, so I wouldn't have knocked myself out for that. My first thought was, isn't coffee a diuretic? I googled it and it is a mild one, usually have not much effect. But in people who are already stressed and dehydrated, why would they want to drink coffee? I don't know if winning that challenge would even be a help in the long run. And I could do without the salt & pepper you get for second place considering the physical toll winning either of the rewards took. In this instance, it seems better to have said, "We're out!" and headed for some shade from the get go. Let the other two teams knock themselves out over coffee and salt & pepper and save your own team for the immunity challenge. Now if they have been fighting over some food or a fishing kit, I can see giving it a good try. But coffee and salt & pepper? Forget it. Caleb went home over salt & pepper. Sheesh.
I thought I was the only one, they are actually 2 of my favorites. LOL I really cannot stand Alecia at all! That is what I was thinking, too...use the ocean!!!!
I am, obviously, in the minority. I love the bounty hunter and it's between him and Cydney as who I want to see win...
Oh, and didn't someone, upthread, post a tweet from the ER doc where he said he was not allowed to intervene medically with any other contestants...liability??
True, Blondie was no brain surgeon, but no one on that Brawn tribe has got more than two brain cells bumping around upstairs. She was perpetually positive and that came off goofy, but she it's not as if she was an idiot and they were brainiacs. You can tell how superior they think they are. And it's such a joke. They are complete bullies. I loathe every one of them. The second they merge, they will probably continue that **** of the walk attitude and get booted off.
They accused Blondie of arguing all the time, but most of the time she was making valid points. She was simply making points to people who were not going to listen to her, no matter how valid her points were. I'm not saying she was a great player or that she was a valuable team member. I'm just saying the three that remained, especially the men, were so much more despicable than her that she looked good my comparison. They are scum. The vibe I get off both men is a really nasty one.
She kept trying to dig, albeit it in a pathetic fashion. When she tried to stay positive and encourage the others to keep trying (never getting rude or sniping or blaming or in any way being negative) the ONLY response NBA gave in return was negative. The bit about "the only thing you're good for is cheerleading" was just one more example. Although he tried to say he really meant it as a compliment, it was clear he was slamming her as being barely worthy of breathing the same air as him. Why try to say he was paying her a compliment when clearly he was insulting her? It's hard to be positive toward 2 teammates who openly despise you and one who is just a little more subtle about it. NBA knows nothing about teamwork. He only wants to work with his buddies. You work with anyone who is on your team, even if you despise them, in order to win a challenge.Don't get me wrong, I think the brawn guys are jerks but what were her valid points? She spent a good portion of the digging part just moving sand around with her feet and then she didn't know enough to shut up when they got back to camp.
This exactly!!! And Alice's Lord of the Flies comparison is so true too.She kept trying to dig, albeit it in a pathetic fashion. When she tried to stay positive and encourage the others to keep trying (never getting rude or sniping or blaming or in any way being negative) the ONLY response NBA gave in return was negative. The bit about "the only thing you're good for is cheerleading" was just one more example. She was damned if she did and damned if she didn't. If she tried to stay positive and be a team player, they insulted her to her face and essentially told her to shut up, even in the middle of a challenge. If she spoke up for herself, she was being a nagging pest who didn't know when to shut up. I guarantee you, had she been silent, they would have made fun of her and said she was sulking or pouting. There is not one single thing she could have done since the first day she arrived to redeem herself because they acted with a pack mentality as bullies will do and identified her as the weakest link. Sort of like the injured wildebeest. And if you're another potential piece of prey for the predators, you keep the finger pointed at that injured wildebeest because as long as the target is on her back, it isn't on yours.
I'm not saying she was likeable. She was annoying. She was not great at challenges. She was the weakest link. I would probably have voted her out too, under certain circumstances. But NBA and bounty hunter have a level of antipathy and condescension toward her that is so out of proportion that they really have taken on a bully pack personality and it's reached a level that is unsettling to me. I've seen too many people with that personality trait not to recognize it. Alone, they might be okay, but the two of them have found each other and they feed off one another. My hinkymeter goes off when they are onscreen. It just does. But then, I have a major aversion to bullies. I don't have to like their victims in order to see that they are indeed being bullies.
Even if she had never said a word, they would have still treated her like dirt. It's just who they are. No matter what she said, how much or how little she said, if she won or lost a challenge for them, whether she made a valid point or not, it would not have mattered. Her words and actions mean NOTHING to them. Make fire? Doesn't matter. They just know she's the injured wildebeest and it's their instinct to zero in on her. Cydney is a stronger, more physically fit wildebeest and she's fooled herself into thinking the predators actually like her and won't take her out in a New York minute. She's wrong.
Once they merge, it will be interesting to see what happens if the two guys stay together. Soon, people will want to send NBA home because they won't want to keep him around too long since he's a big, strong guy. (Although, I think he's not that great at challenges.) You let bounty hunter throw some foot skin in the water pot with the other players and he's going to be sent packing soon too. They can all three go home next as far as I'm concerned. If you added up the brain power of the entire brawn tribe from the very beginning of the season, you might have the IQ of one average human. And I don't think they're even that brawny.
