Finding the Idol is not a big deal anymore, the clue tells you exactly where to find it.

Exactly! Whatever happened to the 3 clues required to find the idol? On Jeff's blog he said thanks to Russell they are going to make the HII more hard to find now, it won't just be under a rock anymore. If that's the case, why didn't they change it for HvV? Makes me believe this season they WANTED it to be easy for Russell, the "HII King."

Still, just because you are the most likable in the final two or three does not mean you were the better player. It's just means you were able to tick less people off. And that's what makes the final vote results so frustrating at times.

I think being able to play the people is a huge part of the game and just as important as the other aspects.

Also, the producers edit the show and show us what they want us to see. The survivors see much more than we will ever see.

When Sugar was on her first episode, she got a great edit and I thought she was a good player. It turns out that she just got a great edit and she cried and whined most of the time. The edits make all the difference.

That's right. Sugar was a fan favorite thanks to her edit on Gabon. Turned out practically all the survivors on her season couldn't stand her. Corrine was especially harsh with her words at FTC , lol.

I wonder how the producers decide exactly what they want us to see...like why did they decide to edit Sugar as the sweet, nice girl (when she wasn't).

After watching years of Big Brother and reading about the live feeds, I realized just how much the producers edit the contestants in order to manipulate public opinion. The good thing about BB is that people watch the live feeds and post everything that happens so you can see what the contestants are really like. It's too bad Survivor doesn't have live feeds like that.

That why the final vote on Survivor and the comments the contestants make are a truer representation of how the remaining contestants really played.

I agree with the PPs about the idol. Why is it so easy to find now? How come Russell could find them with no clues on his first season but has not found one on his own this season? It makes me think there is less "reality" in this reality show then they let on.

I think that they just didn't count on someone like Russell being on the show. They've hid idols in easy to get places before and no one noticed. Remember the one that was up on the sign to the camp? It was a part of the design but no one payed much attention to it. Russell apparently watches the show and he knew where idols were typically hidden. I'm sure it was harder for him to find them then what we were shown. And I wouldn't be surprised if he has been looking this season too, but they are hidden better. We just aren't being shown with him looking. Or, maybe the producers told him that there would not be anyone finding the idols without the clue this season. Would have been fun to see the others faces but since people already doubt his finding them on his own his season, can you imagine what people would say if he continued to find them on his own this season?

Just watched the new Ponderosa videos. If Russell does make it to the final 3, he's gonna need an AWFULLY good speech to give him any chance.

And we all knowm from last season, that is not his strong suit.

Sorry a little off topic, but thought I would share. I live in San Juan Del Sur Nicaragua and guess where the next Survivor is being filmed!!!!!!!!!!!! Yep right here on the outskirts of our quaint little fishing village. They have booked several hotels/private homes here. I will try to keep you all informed!!

I haven't posted on this thread before but I have a couple of questions:

1. Not all of the votes were read last tribal council so how will they know how everyone voted - there was one vote left but it wasn't needed

2. If Candace has flipped to the other side why didn't she warn Russell that they were not voting for him so he didn't waste his immunity idol?

I'm sure there are simple answers for this but I am confused right now.

I'm sure there are simple answers for this but I am confused right now.

1. The staff of the show review all the votes as the players show the camera what they wrote before they put it in the container. They will always stop reading the votes when they get to the number needed to vote someone out. I was puzzled as well, but we found out during the credits that both Sandra and Candace had voted for Amanda. If either one voted Pahvarti, that vote would have been read to add to the suspense.

2. I'm not sure they knew of what Sandra's decision would be and Russell isn't as confident as he was last season. Those girls are getting to him. Plus this might have been a test run for Candace for trust and getting the idol played and out of the way when it isn't needed is always better in the long run for the people who do not have the idol.

They have never been hidden that hard. There was the ones James was voted out with that were in the sign at camp. Another one was right at the place where tree mail was that season. One only needed to look for it and that is what Russell does. The other people just sit around and wait for a clue.

No one is telling Russell where they are.
