thank you everyone for all your help and advice. He will start ST in two weeks. He will not attend the school district's SE preschools. We will be meeting with someone else to determine if the school district will pay for private pre-school.

"child is currently in a program where he is included in preschool program very structured with low teacher/student ratio with normally developing peers which SD does not currently offer"

I am so proud of dh. We stuck to our guns and presented them with a visual diary of ds.

again, thank you so much for all your support.

Oh that is wonderful! So glad it went well for you. Keep us posted regarding the funding by the District!!!!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Hi there...
What does "ST , SD, and SE " stand for.

The reason I ask is that
I am a student enrolled in the Educational Assistant program here in Canada.
Part of our studies require that we join a support group/ forum and write an essay on what we have learnt. There are so many abbreviations...
but I'm learning!

I am also doing a debate in class on benifits of " inclusion" and your post was interesting to me .
I hope you don't mind.

Thanks! And I'm glad to hear things worked out for you and your family.

No problem. i had a crash course in inclusion schools.

SD= school district
SE= special education
ST= speech therapy

Let me know if I can be of any help.
