Survey on prospective ticket offerings for DVC members

Finally meaningful ticket discounts. Sounds like Disney is test marketing various structures among us.

Wow! That is great to hear!! I hope Disney follows through with this.

Do you think that we would also receive discounts on renewing our annual pass too? I think we just payed like $350 or $360 to renew DH's pass in May. It sure would be nice if it would be cheaper.

I got a survey postcard today too! But my survey prices were very different from yours. For instance-

The PAP was offered at a $125.00 savings (25% off reg. prices) which would equal- $374.00 Cost for children's tickets would be 80% of the adult ticket.

and finally the AP-

save $100.00 (25% again) off AP- which would bring the cost of it down to $279.00 - THIS IS THE ONE I VOTED FOR!!

I would absolutely LOVE to have a PAP for $374! That sounds wonderful! I just received my AP vouchers in the mail which cost me about $403 each delivered. I was justifying the AP at 2 visits equalling approximately $200 for tickets - we would stay a week on each visit, so that in itself would have been an okay deal. If they make tickets more reasonable for us, I can see myself back to booking 2-3 WDW trips per year. Now, I use my points mostly at HH, some at Vero and 1-2 trips to WDW.

What a way to start a Sunday morning. I started to read the threads, got to karebear1's about the AP's being discounted 25% and I passed out.

All kidding aside, that would be wonderful. They have my vote.

Just wondering, if they offered both the AP and PAP with a 25% discount, would people still prefer the 15% LOS and why?

Oh, here's hoping they send the card our way! I'd LOVE to give them my opinion -- those AP options would be *wonderful*!!!!!!

I hope that I get a card. We would love to have the APs, and with the discount we would buy them. As it is now, we don't go to the parks as often and bought Sea World Annual passes instead.

Can we start a survey here for the readers to vote on? Someone led me to believe that Disney management does read these boards. Hope it is true.

I MUST BE DREAMING!!! OMG, this would be wonderful, 25% off an AP?? That is FANTASTIC.... Right now, we're skipping the parks for the next few years, except for six days we have on a park hopper. It's just a financial decision. We have Seaworld & Busch Gardens two year passes that just make those parks more attractive right now...

I'd love to see something like the Florida Seasonal passes as well, but hey, beggars can't be choosers & I'd for sure choose that AP discount! Wow!

IMO, it makes no sense to have to pick one choice. Why not just give a discount across the board or at least pick a few choices that cover the gamut. Actualy LOS is likely the least beneficial for most DVC members.

Likely the best choices would be the AP, PAP, 4 day PH and 7 day PH. The discount should be at least as low as they offer any other group including FL residents and conventions. It'd be nice if they offered the seasonal pass as well but I'd doubt they would do that in this situation.

$100 off an AP would be wonderful!! That would certainly get my vote!::yes::

Hoping I get the survey.

And I agree with Dean that it would be great if all were offered. We would have no interest in LOS or hoppers.

TheGriswolds-

do you remember what the prices were for the tickets on your survey?

I agree with Dean -- why should one have to choose? DVCers will want different types of passes. Why should one of them be discounted and the others not?

I realize it is unlikely their motivation lies solely in being kind to us. But whatever their reason for giving perks, surely it is better to have everyone somewhat happy than to have some happy and the others feeling left out. So let's have a moderate discount on several types of passes rather than a big discount on just one type.

Any discount would be wonderful :teeth:

Of course I'm generalising, and we all have our own 'usual' ways of visiting WDW, but AP / PAPs may not be as attractive to those DVCers who live far away from WDW and tend to visit less frequently but for longer periods.

Also, as DVCers make so many return visits, I would guess they tend to spend less time in the parks the longer they have been members, eventually making an AP less cost effective.

For us, discounts on Hoppers would be a better incentive as the days never expire, but I agree with Dean and erikthewise - why limit the discount to only one type of admission? If Disney is considering the possibility of offering admissions discounts to DVCers, I wonder why there has to be a choice.

But, like I said, any discount would be great!

Well Said, I totally agree. I am going to write DVC guest services and tell them that.::yes::

My contact information is out of date, I still have the information for Jackie Leuders at:

Does anyone have the name of the new DVC member satisfaction manager?

I am glad that the prospective discounts were 15 - 25% on something that I will actually buy so would benefit from. I don't know if or why they might limit the offerings to only one.

I did not get the impression from the survey only one form of tickets would be offered at a discount. The survey seemed to have been created to flesh out what you liked/disliked about the four options presented, and even had you finally rank them in order of preference. I can see some reasons from Disney's side for hesitating to offer, or perhaps limiting, sales of certain media such as park hoppers which never expire. Those could (and probably would) be resold at a profit to non-members. There are probably other reasons why all media would not always be offered at a discount.

I would just be thrilled to get a discount on our annual passes, since the small discount on LOS passes was not something we would use.

Now I wish that I hadn't posted about this, if people are going to be jumping to all sort of erroneous conclusions from a very limited amount of second-hand information, and bothering DVC customer service employees. Maybe you could wait a while to see if you are requested to participate in the survey and can share your opinions then. Now I feel bad that by sharing something I am going to cause unnecessary hassle for DVC staff...........:(

When I attended the BWV annual meeting last December, the question of AP discounts came up and they said only 30% of DVC members have AP's so they thought UPH's were a more beneficial discount. Maybe this survey is to see if more would buy AP's if given a decent discount.

I think it would be smart of WDW to offer AP discounts to DVC members because I know in my case we have taken "extra" trips that I wouldn't have otherwise if I had to buy passes. For example, last October my mom and I took a 5 night trip so that we could go to MNSSHP. Didn't have extra points, so we stayed at CBR. We had AP's so we didn't have the expense of passes. In November, I had a business trip to ORlando, I flew down on Sunday afternoon, spent the afternoon and evening at Epcot and stayed at CBR for the night then drove downtown in the morning. I wouldn't have done that if I would have had to pay $50 for a one day pass for a few hours. I would have just flown to Orlando Monday morning and skipped WDW.

Has Disney ever considered that perhaps the reason more people DON'T have an annual pass is due to the cost??
