I received a call tonight from someone saying that they were calling on behalf of DVC. He asked me questions about when we became a member and where we own at, shouldn't he already know this? Then he asked if we have a trip planned in the next4 weeks. After I said yes he asked if I would be willing to sit down for a discussion on a certain date (again he knew when were coming so why ask the questions). He said that it is a sales presentation and I would be meeting with 2 other members if I decide to show up and would receive $75 in Disney $'s. What is this? Has anyone else gotten one of these calls? It sounds odd to me.
Thanks

That's odd? Do you think they're trying to push SSR?

If you go, PLEASE post what it is about.

Others have gotten similar invitations for focus group discussions. I'm not sure if the compensation is in line though. Make sure they don't ask you to send any money and it's not a non Disney timeshare sales ploy.

Don't do it.Someone is trying to sucker you.Disney dont give anything away and that's a fact.Ask any Disney regular.

I am pretty sure only Disney can issue Disney $$$. This strikes me as a focus group where they try to get into the minds of the population who has already purchased the product. Thru this they are able to fine tune or just test drive their sales pitches with folks from the demographic groups they are looking to sell to. Sounds legit to me.

Anyone can purchase Disney dollars and give them to someone else.

I would be leary unless they said they were working for Disney.

Where did this person want you to meet? On Disney/DVC property or somewhere else? Did you agree to go? I too have heard of invites for focus groups, and I'd imagine they too ask when you are planning on visiting and such, but even for that it sounds a little odd the number of questions he asked and should have already known the answer to.

I never give out information on the phone to people who should already have it if they are legit. Whenever we get phone calls like that and they start asking for info they should already know, I simply reply "you should already have that information, YOU called me". If they don't like that answer, oh well, goodbye!
