Survey asks about MaxPass

Family of 6, if I could book my FPs from outside the park, then it would be worth the $60 to me - but if I can't, I'll spend less on the pre-purchased photo pass and just keep running!

Hmm, it seems pretty consistent with the comments here that parties of less than 3-4 will pay, but it's just not worth it for larger parties. Maybe Disney would be smart to cap the fee (e.g., $10/person for the first three people, free for the rest of your party) or make it free for children's tickets.

Not sure how they would be able to cap it by party, as there is too much room for abuse. When Photopass first started there were groups that bought as a "family" and shared the cost/pass, even though they had never even meet.
I could see them making it $5 for children.

I wouldn't hold my breath hoping no one will buy it. In fact, I suspect the price will end up significantly more than $10 a day (remember "introductory price") because a whole lot of people will indeed buy it. People are willing to shell out a lot of money for "up-grades" at Disney right now (like the incredibly over-priced Skyline Lounge). The biggest question is how they will deal with AP holders. That should be an interesting up-sell.

The only way I see it being feasible is if they require that one "party" be linked to single app for FP purposes, with one person pulling FP for everyone. It would still be possible to abuse the system, but it would really inconvenient. At any rate, I think if they could find some way to make MP more affordable for larger families, they could make more profit off of it since the price is keeping away a lot of families. Other optional up-sells like dessert parties and on-site hotels have a limited capacity, so they can go ahead and set the price to the highest price that will allow them to fill to capacity most of the time. There's no reason for them to lower prices to generate interest if they can't meet a higher demand. But MP doesn't have a capacity limit (unless there are technological limitations). So even if some people are willing to pay for it, if they find that a large subsection of their visitors are turned off by the price (i.e. most large families), there's incentive for them to find a way to discount the system to get more people using it. I'm not terribly hopeful (and I'm in a family of 2, so I wouldn't even benefit), but I see reason for them to look at discounting children's tickets or giving some kind of family discount.

For our party of 3, when we usually go for 3 days and get the PhotoPass, it's a no brainer. It's only $10 more than paying for PhotoPass. We've actually not needed Fast Passes yet since my daughter was too small to go on any of those rides... waiting "patiently" and measuring her every week to see if she's going to hit 40 inches by September. If she does not, my sister will be the only one using the Fast Passes (I prefer to wait and experience rides with my daughter when she gets big enough), so I guess that will mean we can get Max Pass for my sister for $30 (for 3 days) and get the PhotoPass along with it? We can all still be in the photos, right?

We are a family of five, worth the $50 to do this ONE day of our three there...why? We were going to pay for Photopass for one day only anyhow, this will just be adding $11 to that price. Plus, you use it strategically. Our first day we fly in early am...so getting to the parks around noon, not worth it on that day, the second day we're at CA...not worth it there, because there aren't as many rides. But our last day is a Friday, packed and crazy since it'll be the last weekend before many schools start...completely worth the $50 for that day since we were buying Photopass anyhow! :)

There are 8 FP attractions at DL and 6 at DCA, if I'm remembering them all, but two of those at DCA run out of FPs quite early, which is something to consider.

But, it's a Thursday and not an EMH day for that park, so since we'll have 14-16 hours at that park, I think using it (especially for the pictures) would be more useful on the Friday. I'm wondering if we get there can we add MP on Thursday as well through our phone app...hmmmm :) It would be worth it to have two full days of pictures on our Photopass :)

People who don't go to Disneyland much might be inclined to purchase it thinking it does not matter since they only come once every couple of years. But fortunately Disneyland is a locals park and most of the locals will not like the charge. Hopefully Disneyland regulars speak up in a major way via social media and by contacting Disney directly voicing their dissatisfaction with their corporate nickle and dime strategy. And hopefully in a very big way this time. If people are relentless it's possible Disney will reverse itself and continue giving their customers free fast passes the way they have for years.

There are also WAY more Photo Pass photographers in DCA as well. It's pretty hit and miss in Disneyland as PP photographers go while in DCA they're all but guaranteed to be in certain spots. Even then I noticed there were a lot less of them overall this last trip. Our first day and a half we had no PP pics at all. If it wasn't included in my AP I would have been a little bent out of shape over that.

Group of 2 going in October and I am definitely interested in this as it will save me some money because I was planning on buying a weeks worth of photopass. I think this will be a nice time saver not having to run around getting fastpasses from machines as well. Would I but this every time I go? No. But for this trip it fits well with my plans!
