Can you rent surrey bikes at OKW? Has anyone done this? How was it? And do you know what their hours are (wherever you rent them)? We were thinking of doing this in the evening, but then I realized that they may not be open in the evening.

I saw them last summer so I know they have them. We ran out of time so it is top on the list of things the kids want to do when we go back next week. I think you get them at Hank's Rent and Return, which is open in the evening but not late. You can get the schedule when you check in.' See you at OKW!

I don't know the hours for Hank's, but that is where you rent them. We did this during President's week and had a lot of fun. Drove all over OKW. It's nice and flat, not as tiring as renting them at the Boardwalk. You must be 18 to drive one.

I think Hank's closes at dusk - so no evening bike rides - but I will be there soon and will check.

Thanks, spiceycat, I'd really appreciate knowing when they close (also how much they cost, if I'm not pushing this favor too much!). We're going in late May, when hopefully dusk isn't til after 8:00. Was hoping to rent about 7:00-7:30pm.

SpiceyCat, when are you going? We check in next Saturday for 8 nights -- I guess it's the 15th. Are you planning on wearing lime green ribbon? I have got to remember to find some!

I am checking it early (I hope) on the 16th

I tried green lime ribbons - so this time I will bring the button from the Dis Conv - it was alot of fun!!!

I will make sure and ask about their May hours!

Last time they gave a print out of all their prices - so I just have to ask when I ask the hours.

SpiceyCat, I will look for you and your button. I am still a newcomer to DVC and have yet to go to a convention. Some day I will have a button too! Look for me with my pale winter skin and lime green ribbon.

Hey -- I just noticed you are from Birmingham. We have a "backup" route planned in case of bad weather on our usual route to WDW, and Birmingham is one town we'll pass thru to avoid snow in the Tennessee mountains. How long does it take you to get to Mickey, and what are the main roads you take? I am a nervous traveler, and knowing we have a good backup route will make me feel better!

See you at OKW.

We rented one at OKW in December. The kids had a blast. DS8 was just a wee-bit short to help with a lot of the pedalling. DS3 enjoyed riding in the basket. DH & I.....well, we found it to be a lot of work but fun work. We didn't make it the full 1/2 hour rental before returning it. We'd do it again though!:)
