We fe going to WDW in 61 days and are thinking about renting the bikes with your kids. We have DD7,DD5 and DS will be 11 months old. Which resort do you think would be the best to rent these from? Thanks

We rented from WL, but we were staying there...

There's a paved path from there to FW, quite lengthy, thru the woods and if you have the energy, thru the campgrounds...

But, let me tell you, they are very heavy and very hard to pedal, especially if only 2 are doing the work... I mean very hard to motivate, works up a good sweat.... Good luck,,,

They have Surrey Bikes for rent at our "home" resort, Port Orleans Riverside. There's a nice path going around and across the Sassagoula River and down to French Quarter resort. For an added treat after your bike ride, take the water taxi from Riverside or French Quarter to DTD (20 minute ride) and wander the area. Lots of good shops and restaurants there. Last boat back from DTD to the resort is 11pm.

We rented them at POR. It was fun and we enjoyed seeing the whole resort loop where we were staying, but the places you can go are restricted so I wouldn't plan more than an hour or so from POR. Not sure about other locations. It is a good way to get some exercise while away.

Just a word of caution to echo pepe ...I saw the bikes at wl at wanted to ride them so bad so we rented one and it was very awful! I am not overweight nor out of shape but boy was that a mistake! They are hard hard work and it sucked the joy right our of our ride. I see them and think....never again!

We tried to rent a 4 person surrey bike from the Boardwalk area with our kids last year when they were 10 and 8 and the CM wouldn't let us do it because he said DH and I wouldn't be able to pedal it alone. You need a 3rd person who is tall enough to pedal (and our DS who was 10 at the time was just barely below the height required). Fortunately my sister was arriving the next day, so that gave us 3 people to pedal (which was still not easy) with the two kids in the back.

So sorry, but I don't think you can rent a surrey bike this trip with 3 kids that young. For the future, we enjoyed the ride around POR.

Thanks for all the great info. We have decided to skip these until our older one can help pedal. Think we might opt for the carriage ride instead.
