Hi All,

We were suppose to go to WDW next year as a last hurrah for my DD & her best friend as they have been at the same private school for 9 years and will part at the end of 2006 for separate high schools.

Anyway they think that we are spending 3 extra days at a moderate hotel and DH & I have decided that we would like to have them experience this together (after a week at WDW).

They are both 14 yr old girls that are very social & outgoing. We will have to choose the excursions for them as they will not know about this until we pull up dockside.

So anything, info, suggestions based on your children, or what you have observed, or heard from others would be very helpful as I am drawing a blank to begin with.

So I will put it all in your all knowing hands to guide me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance for all your help & information.

Oh, man!!! What great parents!
We took the Eco-tour, which is a jet ski tour. You start out in the lagoon and then you make your way around the ship. You ride for a few minutes and then you stop and the guide talks about the ecosystem in and around the island, and then you take a trip out to a sand spit island where you get off the jet skis and take photos. Let me tell you, we're mariners and out on the water often and this excursion was one of the best things me, my husband, my 11 & 12 yrold daughters, my friend and his 10 year old daughter ever took. We all agreed it was definitely a trip we'll never forget! Very exciting! The sea life out there in the wild blue yonder was amazing and unforgettable. When we take our next cruise, we are going to do this again.
Good Luck and have a great time, no matter what you choose to do :earseek:
Below is a photo of us on the sand spit island. Can you spot the ship? BTW those are live conchs we're holding.

Thanks Corryn,

What a great picture!!! That sounds like fun. Did you each have your own jet ski or did you double up? I'll have to check to see if this is available on the 3 day cruise (or was this at CC?)

Thanks again for your help,
Lisa

My DD loved the teen excursion on Castaway Cay. I know on the 7 day cruises it usually sells out because the teens usually become great friends.

When you are in the Bahamas you may want to look into renting a room at the comfort suites across from atlantis, it will give you full access to the pools at atlantis and to the other attractions there. I personally think it works out to be a better deal then the DCL excursion because for a tad more you get more then the beach!! Also check the atlantis rates sometimes they have a special that makes it affordable.

My DD just started HS after 9 years in a catholic school. Of the 51 kids that graduated 8th grade over 30 had been there since 2nd grade. Our school did such an incredible job of making the graduation special..alot of tears were shed by all

What an awesome mom you must be to do this special trip for her. Don't forget to get some signed papers allowing you to take the friend out of the country.
