Hello! Thanks for joinging me. This is my first PTR for our second trip to Disney. We have all been there once before, though DD2 was still in the womb. :cool1:

So here is a little bit about each of us going, maybe those seasoned veterans can give some input on things we may like...

I am 28y and a stay at home mom. I spend most of my day taking care of the house, kids, and watching Disney movies. There is almost always one running in the background. I love photography, crafting, and will soon take on homeschooling. My favorite park is Magic Kingdom as I love anything princess and girly.

DBF is also 28y. He's a musician and a web designer. He's a complete goof ball and loves Disney. His favorite park is Epcot. He loves, food, wine, and almost every kind of music.

Aaralynn is 4 1/2yrs old. She's a very energetic bouncing off the walls kind of girl. She loves animals and girly things. She's an anything goes type kid. She is a dancer and loves dressing up. She still talks about our last trip to Disney where she was 2 1/2yrs old.

Piper is 19 months old and recently potty trained. She is a very mellow easy going kind of girl. She loves dress up and following her big sister around. She was technically at Disney with us in 2010 as I was 3 months pregnant with her. I found out about 2 weeks after booking our last trip that I was pregnant. She loves to watch movies and especially loves Tangled.

Subscribe to my thread, I will be posting about some of the stuff I have made for us for the trip and also some of my planning for packing, the plane, ADRs and plans for our days in the MOST MAGICAL PLACE ON EARTH.:dance3::banana::banana::banana::yay:

This will be our second trip (except the baby) and I am SOOOO excited! :yay::yay::yay::yay: DBF is happy to be going back but not nearly as excited as me. :woohoo:

So here's the biggest detail: THE KIDS DONT KNOW!!!! :rotfl2::rotfl::yay::dance3: I have the big surprise all planned out. I havent been able to STOP thinking about it. :rotfl: So this PTR will be the countdown to the big reveal with the clues along the way. Possibly video if I can figure that out. :rolleyes1

So you have met the cast and now on to the when and where...

We will be arriving in Orlando at 11:17am on Sept 29th and staying until Oct 4th.
We will be staying at the Caribbean Beach Resort (CBR). This will be our first time at this resort, and also at a moderate. When we were in Disney in 2010 we stayed at All Stars Music.

I have alot already figured out so make sure to subscribe to my thread to stay up to date on all of my crazy fun.

If your just joining me, be sure to read the other posts to get the details and meet the cast.

I decided to make autograph books for my girls. We bought the cheapest one Disney sells on our last trip. At that time I didnt know about autographs or the DISboards. So this morning I completed the last detail of their main autograph books.

Front covers of their books along with their extras. :rolleyes1 I made too many pages and had to take out the pages for characters less likely to be found in the parks. We will take them along in our stroller bag just in case. :cool1:

Inside their bags that I made. These have just enough room to carry their sunglasses and a marker.

These were actually pretty simple to make, just very time consuming.
I decided to have them printed on photo paper at Costco. They never give me any trouble about printing something that may have a copyright. Partly because I'm a photographer so they know I do alot of photoshop but also because my DBF works there and they all know me. :littleangel: I used coupons that come in the usb sticks and memory cards and got almost all of my 300 and some prints for free. I then modge podged them to pastel color cardstock and cut them out. Hole punched and a ring and they were just about done. But I needed something pretty for the cover. I'm such a princess:princess:. :rotfl: So I bought 5x7 canvas panels and modge podged sparkly cardstock to the front and back covers then decorated. The castles are little wooden pieces from Joann's that were already painted. I added glue to add sparkles. The crowns I got a long time ago and are for scrapbooking. Then I glued on stars, added the "Dream" sticker, and carefully wrote their names in glue to add on more glitter. :dance3: The ribbons were added last and they are Princess ribbon.

Stay tuned for even more crafty fun and more details about our trip...

Ok so these have been planned for a bit. Honestly almost everything is planned and made or planned for what will be made. :lmao::cool1::lmao:

I made all my ADRs at 180 days. We booked our trip as soon as I heard about the free dining plan being offered. We went in April last visit and used the % discount. We were excited to hear free dining being offered and after some math we realized that we would save alot if we went this year. Originally we planned to wait till 2014 so our youngest would be tall enough for almost all of the rides. BUT with free dining that changed everything! And if I can get DBF to say yes now, I can try again in 2014. :rolleyes1 This year DD2 will turn 2y on Oct 19th which means she has to have a seat on the plane. Thats $250 round trip right now. Also in 2014 she will need park tickets and need to be on the dining plan. So by going this year we save on a plane ticket, park tickets, and dining plan + we get our dining free (well sort of). On our first visit we got the basic dining plan and really enjoyed it. We used up the last of our snack credits on the day we left. This year with two littles we decided to upgrade to deluxe dining for even more flexability and extra character meals credits. When I did the math, an upgrade from QS dining plan free with a value resort was the same price (ish) as upgrading with a moderate. DBF wanted to stay in something fancier and it is his money so who am I to question. :rotfl::rotfl:

So with deluxe dining I knew I wanted to get as many character meals as possible. So here is the list of places we plan to eat...

Cinderella's Royal Table
Ohana's*
Tusker House
1900 Park Fare*
Via Napoli*
Rose & Crown Pub*
The Plaza*
Liberty Tree Inn

Some I have learned (thanks DIS) are not great values with the Dining Plan. I'm not too concerned. We only paid $400 to upgrade and would have stayed at a moderate this time anyway. I think thats a good deal for 4 people (Piper eats as much as her sister) to eat everyday, 3 meals and 2 snacks plus get the refillable mugs.

My girls tend to stay up late and can nap anywhere so I have a feeling that this trip we will take advantage of late extra magic hours and will probably need to grab an extra meal or two. Considering how much food you get at Disney it should help us not to waste much and not have any leftover credits. Not to mention its Food & Wine Fest!

Some QS places we plan to try out:
Flame Tree BBQ*
Sleepy Hollow* (yummy waffles with nutella and fruit! yes please)
Liberty Inn
Min & Bills*
Studios Catering

*new places for us

I still have some planning to do. Ive limited to scheduling one TS each day for the most part so we have some freedom but I may schedule a few more. As long as they aren't credit card guarantee places we can cancel the day of if we are not close to or not in the mood to eat or sit down.

Stay tuned...Day plans and more crafty fun to come!:woohoo::woohoo:

So today marks 121 days until we leave.:banana::banana::banana: I've been working hard on planning and spending ALOT of time on DIS.:thumbsup2

I still have alot to do. I have to work on planning the days in the parks. I'm leaving it very flexible as the girls are still so young but I want to have a general idea of what when and where. I have an outline for each day and outfits planned. I will be posting about each day as it gets closer to the BIG DAY!

I decided that it would be pretty cool to watch a movie a day until the BD and show the girls all the extra Disney magic. We own alot of dvds and vhs (yes my kids actually know what those are.)And the video store we go to has alot of free movies for kids and they have a few Disney ones. I'm going to get a list of every Disney movie and try to scratch off as many as I can before the trip. I will post the list tomorrow and post daily what video we will be watching that night.

Follow along with us and hope I can keep the secret!

So I found a complete list of Disney movies. If there are any titles missing or if something is on it that is NOT Disney, please let me know and I will change it. I had no idea there were so many...I numbered them and put an asterisk next to the ones I own and will hopefully find enough of the other movies to fill the next 120 days. so without further ado...

Tomorrow's video will be Air Bud as we have it on vhs and the girls havent watched it yet.

Have I mentioned yet that I am addicted to DIS?:scared1: I absolutely love it!:love::love:I've been looking at the CreativeDIS and am AMAZED at the DISigners. I just went through and requested some personalized things for our window and door at CBR. I'm not so good with photoshop (though I'm the photographer DBF always did my edits and he's busy with a deadline to get into a festival for this summer), so hopefully the DISigner will have time to help me out on that. I just reconfigured our clothing for each day because I loved so much of the stuff!

Tonight's movie is supposed to be Air Bud but at the moment my oldest is watching Mulan. :yay:I love this movie. I'm not sure there's a Disney movie we own that I dont love. oh wait yes, Cars 2. I just dont like the meanness of it.

I'm driving myself crazy about how to pack. I know I have months to go but I am so nervous about the airport. Last trip we overpacked, took a carseat that weighed 22lbs, a stroller, plus a 2yr old. It was STRESSFUL! I'm trying to go lightly this time but I really wanna do my own version of a Mickey's Grand Welcome too. Maybe if I stay off DIS for a bit I wont find a bunch more stuff to make and do? :rotfl2:

I'm here!! :yay: You're kids are too cute and I can't wait to hear more about the surprise!!

It's been a few days since I updated. We have been busy. We went to fly the girls princess kite from Easter and then went bowling. They love to bowl. Yesterday we went to the zoo and spent the whole day there. So much to see and do and learn. We go often thanks to our membership. We did finally watch Air Bud, followed by 101 Dalmations and Peter Pan the next day. Last night we chose to watch Mary Poppins and Aaralynn wanted to watch it again this morning so its playing now. :)

I thought today I would post the dining autograph books I made my girls. When I made their main books I realized that they were too thick so I made separate dining books. They still ended up being too thick but I'll just pack the extras just in case. :rotfl:

I'm not posting inside because I didnt design the pages and since I didnt write down who they were its not fair to not give them credit. The DISigners on these boards are AMAZING!

Tonight's movie will probably be Ratatoille is we get time. The next few days will be crazy and I may not get to post much. Tomorrow Aaralynn has dance rehearsal for her recital on Sat. My mom and brother are coming in from Pittsburgh to see it and will be here all weekend so we will be at the beach and such. On the 29th we will be giving the girls their first clues and telling them about A trip. Stay tuned for that!

Ok so I'm gonna make this a little short... Tomorrow my oldest has her dance recital and my mom and brother are coming in from PA to see it and visit. Today I have to clean from top to bottom and get Aaralynn to practice. Its not easy, the little wants held all day and wont leave me alone and they both keep asking for things or bugging me about something. UGH!

So on to the plans...

I recently got an email that they changed our departure time to 730am. Great that we get to Disney an hour earlier but it sucks for getting up at 3am to get ready and drive the hour to the airport.

So our day should look like this:
Sat Sept 29th
wake up get dressed (I still have to figure out when to get up and reveal the surprise)
In the car by 430
Airport by 530
Take off 730
Arrive MCO 10am
Arrive at resort around 12?
Quick lunch for Daddy and kids at the resort while I run to decorate the room
Find the awesomely decorated room and change clothes
Head to MK by 130
Explore Mk until 530
Head to BBB for oldest (I made a princess sash for the younger one and will buy a tiara for her)
Right after BBB walk across to CRT!! (We ate at CRT on the first day of our last trip and it was so special)
Explore MK until close @ 10p
Go to bed after getting back as we have an early day planned on Sun

I will be posting our shirts for this day soon as I get them made! Stay tuned...

I'm off to go scrub floors...Maybe I'll pretend I'm Cinderella to feel better about it??....

So it's been a crazy last few days. Aaralynn did fantastic on her recital. My family was here and we had a great time with them. We had an emergency on Sat with one of our rabbits who we found a big gash on and had to rush to the vet. Like I really needed that added to the day? :confused3 So far she is doing better but may need surgery, looks like it may be a tumor and not a gash.

I ordered a bunch of free samples and they are starting to come in and being added to my stash of things to mail to the resort. I'd like to have as little as possible to get through security faster. I'll post more about it when its time to mail out.

So on to Day 2's Plans...

We have an early morning breakfast ressie at 1900 Park Fare @ 830
Then its off to DHS until about 4pm (sooner if we get done, we didnt really care for this park but there are some autographs to get and a couple shows to see)
at 4pm we will make a quick stop at the resort for....

SURPRISE! A letter from Mickey inviting us to MNSSHP,as well as new costumes, glowsticks, autograph books, and ToT bags.

Then we will be in the park until midnight enjoying that.

Whenever we get back we will go to sleep, if the kids are not already asleep.

I planned a slow day for day 3 so we wont have to wake early. STay tuned for those plans coming in the next few days....

I made it all the way through! Can I just say first how *adorable* your girls are? And I love their names - so pretty!

I am also totally loving that this is a surprise ... and all the crafts ... and the surprise invite from Mickey to MNSSHP is probably the coolest thing I've heard of in a long time. Kudos to you for making this even more fun for them! :thumbsup2

Can't wait to read more details about the surprise ... the crafts ... plans ... etc.! Carry on popcorn::

:yay:Another reader!! Thanks for joining me! I never got to go to Disney as a kid, we just never could afford it and my mom doesnt like to travel, like seriously at all. Its a big event when she drives the 300 miles to come see me in Detroit from Pittsburgh, let alone go to Orlando. lol. DBF also never got to go. Our first ever trip was together with our oldest. Since he's footing the bill (and happily upgrading everything) and I have recently become DIS obsessed :rotfl2: I just knew I had to make it special for them. Neither will understand the wait so a surprise will save me from saying "no not today" a million times. :rotfl:

I'm gonna be working on shirts soon. DBF agreed to wear matching shirts!!

Ok so last night I decided to rewrite the chart for the park hours and mark which park for which day. Now I have had these planned since the second day we booked this vacation, months ago! But after looking at them I realized that Day 2 i planned to take the bus to MK to take the monorail to Grand Floridian to then take a bus to HS then bus back to our resort to change and bus back to MK for MNSSHP. Seems like way too much time in transit.
Day 3 was a a sleep in day and then all day at MK for EMH till midnight with a possible park hop but nothing set in stone. Since its in the middle of the trip its our most relaxed day.

Well all that time on a bus just doesnt work for me. I have MAJOR anxiety issues when I'm not driving that causes me to get physically ill thanks to another medical condition. So I changed the plans a bit.

Day 2 will now look like this..
Wake early for breakfast at 1900 Park Fare @ 825am
We may take a taxi straight to it or take the bus and try to get a picture inside the gates without anyone there. Park opens at 9am so I'm not sure how it will work if we arrive at MK at 8am??
After breakfast we will take the monorail back to MK for the whole day

I havent decided if we will go back to the resort to change into our costumes or if we will just pack them in our bags. I'd hate to waste time on the bus. I havent posted about our costumes yet but they have been decided on. I just have to make them. My goal is that they will be super cute and unique and get us into the parade. Or at the very least ALOT of extra attention. I really want this trip to be super special for my girls. We have had a tough year trying to find a house (heck make that 2 years, and we still havent bought one). We have been crammed into a small apartment. The girls have been fighting, theres way too much yelling, back talking, and all around not listening. We all desperately need a break or we are going to break.

Planning this trip has been my outlet. Now if only my kids would nap so I could work on making more stuff that they CAN NOT see. Even the baby has decided she's too big for naps now. Ugh!

Coming up...Packing plans (which will prob change, again)

Hello,
You got a couple of cute kiddos there! I’m so jealous that your little one is potty trained already. We’re having a HUGE problem with my son, he’s terrified of his training toilet and I don’t know what to do about it? Everyone says he’ll give me clues when he’s ready and to be patient… I think he’s ready, but I can’t get him past his fear… I really, really need him potty trained before we go on our trip in November. I guess he won’t be allowed in the pools on the Dream and won’t be able to go into the kids clubs if he’s still in diapers. We’re having a hard time transitioning him into a regular bed too … he’s just one big pain in the tush, it’s a good thing he’s so cute.

I love your autograph books, very cute. My daughter LOVES getting autographs from the characters, it’s one of her favorite things to do when on our Disney vacations. Sometimes I think she enjoys that more than the rides.
You’ll love CBR … We stayed there for our honeymoon and our 2 year anniversary. I loved the sandy beach and the hammocks. I remember laying out on those at night with my hubby and just staring at the stars reminiscing about our day at the park.. I’d really like to stay there again someday but wanted something different for our upcoming trip. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Joining in! :goodvibes

Love the surprise trip for the girls! Looking forward to reading more!
Welcome! Thanks for joining me!!

Thanks for joining me! I potty trained my youngest a little younger than her sister so we would have enough time of being out of diapers for the trip. :thumbsup2 My oldest potty trained at 20 months. It helped having an older sister using the potty. For both of my girls, I went the straight to undies route. Let them run naked for a week and reward with loud cheers and dancing when anything gets in the potty. Took my oldest a week before she started letting us know she had to go but only took the babe 3 days. I started shortly after she turned 18 months and shes been in big girl pants since. We didnt use a little potty for either one but I did use one of those little seats that attach to the big seat. She was nervous about falling in without it. I have heard that boys can be more tricky. Good luck!

Ok so as I said, I revised day 2's plans. Arrival day is all set in stone and nothing needs changed on that. The flight will leave in the morning and my first stop will always be Magic Kingdom! :cool1:

So after realizing that park hopping on the same day as an early breakfast at a resort and also doing MNSSHP, I changed Sun the 30th's plans to spend all day at MK with a QS lunch and QS dinner. I may decide to park hop to Epcot mid day for lunch since it is DBF fave park and I only planned one day there. Granted it is a full day of more than 12 hours there. Its not my fave park, can you tell?:rotfl:

So day 3 will now be....

Hollywood Studios!!!

Mon Oct 1st
I am planning for us to sleep in a little. We dont have an early breakfast scheduled this day. We will prob grab some breakfast at the resort before heading over to HS. Since I changed HS to day 3 I can schedule a sit down lunch, so I chose...Hollywood & Vine. Yep another character meal for the girls. I am hoping that since there isnt much that we have to do other than some autographs at HS that we will get it all done and be able to leave at 530p without needing to come back another day. Then its off to MK for a dinner ressie at 645 at Liberty Tree and enjoy EMH until 12p.

Hopefully this wont all need to be changed yet again. :rotfl2:

And since my day plans dont have much fun and no pictures I thought I would post the pictures of our cute Disney toes...:)

2012-05-19112928.jpg

Aaralynn's toes. She wanted hers to be Mickey. I attempted to draw a mickey head in the corner but its didnt turn out right. :guilty:

Piper didnt pick Minnie but she was the first ones I did and I wanted to try Minnie ones. She has whote dots on four toes and a black bow on her big toes.

Mine are a french manicure style with minnie dots and a small bow on each toe.

I'm really happy with how they turned out and may have to try other disney characters. :rotfl2::rotfl2:
