So we leave for our latest WDW trip in 13 short days. We go to Disney very often and I hate to say it but my kids don't think it's a big deal at all. So we booked a long weekend trip. Unfortunatly for me dh it's Superbowl weekend but oh well. Anyway the kids have no idea we're going. So I thought to make this trip special, we would surprise them. Here's my plan but I'm totally open to (better) suggestions.
I was going to let the kids (ds age 8 and dd age 5) wake up and get dressed as if it's a normal school day. Then I thought we'd say something like,"let's skip school today and go do something fun as a family." Then I thought we'd just hop in the car and drive to the airport and kind of let them guess and figure it out for themselves. In order for this plan to work, we'll nedd to pack the suitcases and car without them knowing but I thin that's doable.
So what do you think? Any better ideas?

and calm. Don't tell them anything until you are literally at the airport. (try convincing them that you have to go to the airport to pick up somebody and you want their company.) At the airport, pull out the suitcases; and let them guess where they're going. It is priceless to see their stunned faces, especially on kids who are somewhat "jaded". It's so nice when parents still have the upper hand! 
Might be a good idea to plan to give them something to amuse themselves on the plane ride. Maybe a disposable digital camera and a journal to record their memories of this special trip and how they were fooled. Give them clues as to where they will stay--make them guess and keep the momentum going until they actually arrive at their resort.
