Hi this summer we are going on the seven day magic. And i would love 2 surprise my little sister with a gift basket on the cruise. I have read many threads regarding the perfect gift, but opt to make my own being i can just pack it in my suitcase and set it up when on the boat. I am looking 4 ideas on what 2 include in her basket. Maybe snacks, candy...?

Any help would be greatly appritiated!

Thanks so much!  :jester:

Not sure the age of your sister....

But, how about a disposable underwater camera. Some of that sparkly sunscreen or the kind that goes on colorful then the color goes away.

If she is younger, get her an autograph book & pen, so she can get the character's signatures.

Some kicky sunglasses, a bottle of the sunscreeen that goes on colored and then fades as you rub it in (the spray kind is great if she gets her hair braided), a beach towel with Mickey Mouse, a beach ball, a new swimsuit, a Mickey beanie or small stuffie, the cute little lip balms, hmmmm....I could go on and on....oh wait, I already have!!

I am loving the repleys!

She really likes lipbalm and stuff so those are things that are totally a must!

keep your eyes open for sales at the Disney Store. You can get all kinds of themed items as they go on sale. Right now they have princess sandels on sale, and beach towels. For some less expensive items you could get disney wonder ball candy, mickey gummies, maybe some juice boxes. Perhaps a hat/visor, sunglasses. Good luck, it sounds as if your mom has raised some special daughters.

I don't know if this is a nation-wide thing or not, but I was just at the Disney Store today and they are having an incredible (semi-annual) sale. Almost everything was on sale, 50-75% off. I picked up a bunch of small things to make up baskets for my kids for our cruise in January. They had really big buckets (REALLY big) with sand toys marked down from $15 to $7.50. I got Ariel bubbles half-price, pinwheel pens with the characters for $1.50 (half-price), "bouquets" of Pooh/Mickey lollipops (regular price- $3.95), character cups with lids that you twist to make the straw pop up marked down from $4 to $2, etc. They had bigger things marked down, too, such as bathing suits, character towels, and clothing, hats, and sunglasses. Oh, and I got a really cute tic-tac-toe game with little Pooh and Piglet magnets for the X's and O's in a small round tin, and a similar card game with circular cards, each marked down to $1.50!

BTW, I was able to use my Disney Club card with all these sales to get an ADDITIONAL 10% off!

(Can you tell that I get excited by sales? I swear, my heart starts racing when I see %-off signs!)

Good luck! What a thoughtful sister you are!

Disney Store also usually carries those washclothes packed in really tiny packages -- only about 2 inches square -- maybe even smaller. When you put them in water --- the appear as full size washclothes with various character prints!!

Take a pic of you and your sister with you basket creation for all of us to see! I also love to make up my own gift baskets.

Another idea would be to buy a Disney T-shirt (any Disney shirt you like, but it has to be Disney) and put it in the basket. then, once you give it to her, place it in a ziplock bag with your name and cabin # and drop it off at the Guest Services desk. They will have all the characters sign it and then you pick it up when done!! Would be a bit different than the autograph book since she already has one of those. They will only accept Disney shirts for character signatures.

I never heard that it had to be a Disney Shirt to have signed? I would imagine a plain shirt would be fine also -- as we had them sign pillowcases. They made nice souveniers and nice token take home gifts for family.
:)

Hi Jody...we were told on our 2/23/02 cruise that IT MUST BE A DISNEY SHIRT. The shirt my friend had for her neice was plain white with a little Disney logo on the sleeve. At first they didn't want to accept it, but them my friend pointed out the Disney Logo and they took it.

You really do want a shirt that has a fairly large area for the characters to sign. Maybe it was the particular CM we had at guest services or maybe this is a new rule...not sure. Were the pillow cases plain white ones or the ones from the kids club?

MJ

We were on the magic 4/20/02. We gave them plain 'ol Martha Stewart Pillowcases to have signed.

How about a gift card to the ships arcade. There was a machine in the arcade that sold them for $5.00. Or A gift cert. to the ships store, you my purchase it through Magical Treasures, least amount is $25. 1-800-601-8455 It will be delivered to your stateroom, you can even say it's from Mickey.
