I know a long time ago when I was lurking someone had a TR that had a cute lil saying for the kids and it kinda included the different rides and towns in Disneyland. Do you remember who it was?

If not can someone suggest a cute way to surprise some kids. We are taking my three cousins to Disneyland in May. We are going to surprise them the trip on Christmas.

Any help is appreciated.

We're looking for some fun way to tell our 9 yr old niece about a trip to WDW. She's been to DL many times but never to WDW and never flown and she keeps asking to go to WDW! The day before we leave is her birthday so trying to come up with a good way to suprise her on her birthday and tell her to pack her bags as we leave in the morning.

So me too for cute things to say or hint?

I know someone. She's an Aussie. She did an amazing little treasure hunt for her children and she still has copies of everything. Her name is Ms. shuttergirl

We're surprising our kids in 5 weeks too and I'm soooooooooooooooo excited. I'm finding it very very hard not to talk about it though.

Tell her you're going to Disneyland again, so when she winds up at Disneyworld it's like a double surprise.

We told the kids we were flying to Texas for a family reunion. Once they got to Texas (our layover) we told them we had to catch another plane to "DISNEY WORLD!!!"

We surprised our kids for our trip in Dec. 2008. I'd been planning the trip for about 4 months and it was so hard to keep it a secret. I bought some invitations that had Mickey on them and filled them out like a birthday invitation. We gave them to the kid's a couple of days before we left.

Reading the Invitation - which went something like - You're invited to Disneyland to see Mickey Mouse - with the date and time to leave.

We also woke them up at 4:30 am on Memorial Day one year and asked them if they wanted to go to Disneyland!! Our little son asked us if we were kidding him or if we really meant it. I don't have pictures of that!

Guilty as charged. I also tell them there's a Santa and a Tooth Fairy and an Easter Bunny.

OH NO, I'M THE WORST PARENT EVER ;)

LOL- If you are, I'm right there with you.

That's what a surprise is all about. I highly doubt the kids were going "Darn, we miss a family reunion to go to boring old Disney..."

I plan to surprise mine for her birthday in December. She thinks we're going to Chicago for the day, and instead we're going to Disneyland for 5 days. And I can guarantee she won't mind AT ALL that I tricked her. She'll be bouncing off the airport walls....

I told the kids we're going to Vegas *points at ticker* which isn't exactly a lie. We ARE going to Vegas. For a night. Then we're going to Anaheim :goodvibes They just don't know that part and won't until the morning we leave Vegas :lmao:

I did just tell a huge 'lie' tonight tho. Because I had my daughter try on a skirt I made (I'm making a couple shirts and a skirt for the trip with Mickey) and told her it was for my friend's daughter who is her size. Oops :confused3;)

As I was cleaning out my desk at work I found the saying. I wish I would have done this sooner. Any ways here it goes:

Yo ho Yo ho the fun has just begun

In ___ our family will journey to a faraway LAND, where we will cruise through a jungle, explore an island, sail through a pirate battle, pick up hitch hiking ghosts, fly with elephants, escape from a snow monster, float in a log, blast through space, and so much more.

Let the countdown begin!

I love it, that is great!

So you suggest we lie to our children? :confused3

Mike

You can handle it any way you want. I think many of us have led our children to believe they were going somewhere less fun and then surprised them with DL.

Guilty as charged. I also tell them there's a Santa and a Tooth Fairy and an Easter Bunny.

Me too, but not everyone does.

Was that a joke?

Perhaps Mike is one of those parents that doesn't tell their children about Santa or the Easter Bunny. I have a cousin like that. They spend all holidays alone, because none of us want our kids around his son to ruin all the magic.

LOL Larina, we have family like that too. I also never want to spend Holidays with them because of the exact SAME reason! They are actually PROUD of the fact that their kids are whistle blowers too! They encourage it because they feel it's good to be "honest". What about teaching some compassion for other kids who believe other things instead of taking joy in spoiling it?! grrr The ironic thing is that they LOVE Disneyland and princesses and such, and are ok with their kids believing in THAT magic...but when it comes to santa and EB, or allowing any "magic" in real life (through white lies on the parents part of course!) etc, WATCH OUT! We don't want to lie to them, they might be devastated when they find out later we LIED! lol oh brother. Fyi, we will be and ARE "lying" to our kids about our upcoming trip. We are telling them something along the lines of going to visit family and then will spring the going to disneyland instead after we land! I think it makes it sooo much more fun and "magical" for them to be surprised with going to the Happiest Place on Earth like that! I for one, cannot wait to "lie" to my kids! :D I guess I'm a bad mom too then. Raises hand. Guilty. lol.
