Planning on giving our 4 kids a trip to Disney in early January as their xmas gift from mommy and daddy. any great ideas for how to tell them? I already have disney autograph books and park maps planning to wrap them up. what else have you done?

I am planning on doing the same, I have my reservations for Feb., but I need to purchase my airline tickets. I plan on giving each of my children a box, and in it put things you would need for WDW, such as a bathing suit, sunglasses and some Disney dollars.

You can read the first page of my trip report to see what we did last Christmas morning for our surprise.

Jen,What a Great Christmas presents for the kids (and for you too;) . If we were giving our February surprise trip at Christmas I think I would make a box up and put the planning DVD and a count down chain along with all of the stuff that we can go shopping together for at the Disney store!! I already have my stuff started so now you just need to catch up:woohoo: I guess that you have to change your ticker too:( There's a whole KOTS (keeper of the secrets)section on here somewhere where there were a lot of great ideas.:wizard:

i put the air tickets in the stocking. My DD just looked and said some kind of tickets and droped them down. My DW didn't know about the trip and was like tickets for what. She ran to her stocking to see what it was. The family loved it when that got it. than was more happy hen only had to wait 26 days to go to WDW.

We gave our kids a trip last year. :santa: I got the tickets, maps, tons of trinkets. I also got my boys a nice carry on bag wich I filled the pockets with stuff, new socks coloring books new bathing suits, Disney beach towels general travel stuff. Oh I also ordered the Disney Planning Video which was so fun to watch later on Christmas day.:santa:

I got 6 big boxes all the same size I wraped them in this adorable candy cane gift wrap all the same. I made big gift tags for each package and I stacked them all on top of each other, and set them off to the side so we all had to wait to open them untill every thing else was opened. It looked great, the boys could not wait to open this mystery gift in the corner of our livingroom. They opened each one from the top down and the tickets were in the last box. It was all very fun-Im sure any way you present it will be oversadowed by what it is!LOL Have fun and have a great trip!

we are doing the same kids 4 & 2. We are getting them backpacks, mickey and minnie dolls, autograph books, a disney calendar to countdown the days, sunglasses, stickers, magic disney washcloth, games for line and plane ( brainquest), playdoh, disney t-shirts, and we are going to wrap the disney planning DVD. I am hoping they run thepromotion again this year where mickey calls on xmas mrning, otherwise I might have cinderella call from enchanted calls. any other ideas would be great. I have seen the scavenger hunt thing and the puzzle, any other creative ides?

We are doing the same for our kids (7 & 2) for Christmas. We will have some "Santa" gifts that they open first. When those are done, we are going to have a box filled with the custom park maps, info on hotel, autograph books, some Disney clothing, etc.. I can't wait to see their faces!! We will then leave on 1/6. Good luck!!

We did this last Christmas for our January trip! My kids all enjoy pin collecting/trading, so what I did was get them each a pin that said Walt Disney World and wrapped them individually. After we opened all the gifts, we gave them the small packages as their last gifts and they had to open them at the same time. At first they were like, 'okay, pins' and liked them but didn't get why that gift had to be last, until I asked DD to read what all the pins said, I said that was the gift. She looked at all the pins (which were all different, but all said WDW) and then realized that the gift was a trip to WDW! They asked if that's what it really meant and my dad told them (because really the trip was his gift to them) that in 3 weeks we were all going to WDW! They were so excited, lots of screaming and jumping up and down, hugs and kisses all around, it is a great memory!

My parents and I were taking a trip in mid-jan to WDW staying at AKL. DH wasn't oing to be able to go. I chose not to tell DS until Christmas (DD was 11 months when we went) I ordered a design your own t-shirt from the disneystore. I chose a picture that had several characters in front of cinderells's castle. Then, I had "My fantastic Vacation at Walt Disney World Jan 15-22, 2005". Then I made little cards, each with a different detail. for example, view animals from your balcony at AKL, pirate adventure at GF with the date on it, and then we made PS at Teppanyaki, his favorite restaurant for him. I put all of the things is a box together and wrapped them in Mickey Christmas paper. He was surprised because I had been saying we wouldn't be going to WDW until DD was 2 years old;)
