Surprised I was able to make Dessert Party reservations early with split stay

Like the title says, I have a three resort split stay this July. I was only able to make dining reservations for the first few days this morning. I tried to makeMK dessert party reservations for the last part of my split stay and was happy to see my reservation went through.

Has to is always been allowed?
