I'm surprised I haven't read more about people ruining the ride pics for others due to their throwing their hands up and thus blocking the faces of the people behind them on Tower, Splash, Everest, etc. At least with Space it's a side view. But it's so obvious, when looking at the pics, that throwing your hands up blocks the people behind you that I just think it's really rude that people continue to do it. Am I the only one? I know the point of the ride is to have fun, but some people really care about those photos too and might not have another chance to wait in line again and ride again just for another pic, especially as the pics are usually on the most popular, longest line rides. I don't know, it's just always seemed inconsiderate to me.

Went to Disney for the first time last month. We had absolutely no idea when a photo would be taken. We enjoyed all the rides and if my arms were up blocking someone's face then whatever. It wouldn't be my intention to ruin a photo but what else are you supposed to do when you have never ridden a ride. I don't think it's disrespectful though. It is an amusement park ride, not a school picture.

I don't live in a bubble, sure life would be better if people were not in line ahead of me, rolling over my feet with their strollers, wearing inappropriate cloths, talking too loud, taking too long, moving to fast, moving too slow, smoking, taking flash pictures on dark rides, using selfie sticks, or doing a thousand other things but really it's just part of living in a society. We have to allow for a level of interaction with our fellow humans and just roll with it.

There was a whole thread on this topic a couple of months ago. You are not alone in your opinion. Just to warn you, though, the general consensus in that thread was "meh, live with it" from what I was able to pick up.

I feel like it's more important for people to enjoy the ride than it is for me to get a perfect picture. If a perfect picture is a priority for you, you can always ask to sit in the front

Allowing people to enjoy the ride is much better then getting a perfect photo. I have never been upset about someones hands or arms are blocking a photo. Not even anywhere on my list of things to worry about. People should be having fun in the parks and I love seeing their excitement.

So hands up!

Weird complaint. The vast majority of people putting their hands up are not doing so to be rude or ruin a picture. They’re simply enjoying the ride like everyone else. I don’t think assuming everyone is out to be rude is a great way to approach a situation that’s admittedly frustrating.

I wish I could find that thread someone mentioned but a search did not bring it up. I don't think anyone INTENDS to ruin a picture for others, I'm just surprised that if someone does ruin a photo and sees that they did, that they ever put their hands up again. If I saw I had blocked someone's face because I had put my hands up I would feel terrible and not do it again. I was just wondering why some people continue to do it despite seeing that it can ruin photos for others. I was just curious...I've never bought a ride photo ever and my fun does not depend on them. I just find it inconsiderate once a person realizes it can happen and yet they continue to do it.

Sometimes it’s an involuntary response to a moment in the ride, like Splash Mountain. Other times the difference between blocking someone and not blocking someone is inches. Maybe they’ve never blocked someone before and don’t know.

I don’t know. Policing people taking flash photography on dark rides is one thing, but this seems really minor. Just let people have fun. If YOU get blocked by someone’s arms, ask to ride again to get a better photo.

I would never think to worry about the people behind me. I'm having a great time screaming my head off, waving my arms in the air like i just don't care! No time to worry about some ride photo.

Yeah, I remember that thread from a couple of months ago.

If a clear shot of you matters so much, ask for front row. I’m going to keep enjoying myself. As will everyone around you.

Is our ducked down position approvable for you here? Lol!

That’s happened to us on multiple rides. It’s all part of people having fun on rides. Do I put my hands up? On the downhill part of EE. The others aren’t big enough IMHO. But if it’s fun for others, that’s great.

You could also complain about children laughing too loud for you to hear the soundtracks in the queue lines. I’m thankful to have been able to afford being in Disney as many times as I have and if other people want to have a good time, just let them. It’s not my park.

If the photo is important to us we ask for front row and are willing to wait. We don't put our hands up in the photos, because we don't want to be those people. However, we don't get angry about it if it happens to us.
