Surprised at Ease of Scoring ADRS

This is the first time I ever booked at the 180 day out mark. We are going at the end of October----though we haven't actually booked the trip yet----just our plane. Needless to say, I've set my alarm each morning for 5:55 and have successfully made nearly all my ADRs (a few days left to book).

From reading the boards about making ADRs and the importance of being early-----I was surprised at how easily I was able to get in and score the times that I wanted.

Even moreso, I have been checking later in the day and even a few days past to see if certain (claim to be 'hard-to-get') reservations are still available----and they are!

I had no interest in eating at Cinderella's castle (and isn't this one of the coveted ADRs?)-----yet I can still get in and find openings throughout the day. . . .even Le Cellier. . .and 'Ohana, etc.

I guess what I'm saying or asking is. . . are bookings that down for that part of the year. . .or isn't it really all that hard (despite the threads I've read) to get what you want?

Not complaining of course. . .very happy with our dining itinerary! :woohoo:

A CM told me that Airline and fuel prices are kiilling them !
Many have cancelled

It has been the same for my upcoming trip in JUNE (a very popular time!)

I have tons of hard to get ADRs. Altho, it seems the luck is starting to wear out (or people are really starting to book/plan) cuz I have been trying to move my Chef Mickey's ADR from 9:20am to an 8am and there are currently NO openings for breakfast on the day I want....:confused3

So the pickings are getting slimmer as the trip gets closer.

I think it depends on whether Disney is offer free dining(or people expect disney to offer free dining so they plan accordingly). It is difficult to get anything in September right now.

Congrats to those of you who are getting your ADR's! June is a popular time to go, so I can see why it would be tough around then.

I was pleased with how easily I got my October ADR's. I think it helped that we picked all character meals this time and we were very flexible with eating times. We got: 10/27 Tusker breakfast, 10/28 Akershus lunch, 10/29 Garden Grill dinner and 10/30 Crystal Palace lunch.

I have made and re-made ADRs for my trip in mid-July and have had absolutely no trouble getting the times I want for the restaurants I want. I'm quite suprised really, as I had expected very slim pickings.

I am not finding that at all! We are going Sept. 10-15 and there is absolutely everything available on every day still! I just got done rearranging again :rotfl: and had no problems at all getting exactly what we wanted, including all of the so called hard to get places.

I think it really has to do with free dining. When we went over Easter I had no problem getting ADRs the night before I wanted them (it wasn't a planned trip). On the Saturday night before Easter I even found multiple times at Mama Melrose's and Brown Derby for the Fantasmic package. And yet, when looking for ADRs for a possible early June trip last week (I think it was at the very end of the last free dining promotion) I couldn't get anything I wanted.

I also think the popular ADRs are changing. Now that Le Cellier is two credits for dinner it seems not as many people are going. From what I've seen CRT is getting pretty easy too, especially if you don't really care when you eat. But 'Ohana seems to be difficult still.

Thanks for letting us know! I am getting up early tomorrow to book my ADR's and I was getting worried about scoring my times. I hope early Nov is just as easy :goodvibes

Le'Cellier and Chef Mickey's were the only ones I was finding limited when I checked tonight for Oct. 19th-24th. I got all the places and times I wanted when I tried at 180+ days. Good luck

I had no trouble making reservations for late-July (including MANY available times throughout the day and evening at CRT, Ohana, etc.) and I didn't even start trying until around the 90-day mark. With the economy in a tail-spin, fewer people are going on vacation and those that do may be looking at much more economical meals than $200+ for a family of four at CRT. If this weren't a special ocassion for us, I wouldn't be booking as many expensive TS meals.
