We will be going to WDW the 2nd week of Dec. I'd like to surprise my kids (boy and girl 6 yr old twins) with a goody bag of sorts in their room. So far, I've bought 2 Mickey Santa plush dolls (found on sale for $4.49). My idea was to somehow display the dolls holding a goody bag of disney trinkets. Any suggestions? So far, here's my ideas:

autograph book
Fat pen
Epcot passport
Smashed penny holder
all of the above I can purchase online. Its slightly more expensive than buying them at the parks, but saves time.

also,
Disney sunglasses
light-up necklace
light stick
small disney flashlight
disney coloring book and crayons
disposable camera

Does anyone have any other ideas? I'd like to buy all these items before the trip, then surprise them with them. I can't quite figure out how to place them in the room before we get there. Would the hotel staff do that (for a tip, of course). Or maybe one of us could go up to the room while the other takes the kids to a restaurant. My idea is to have the items nicely displayed so when they enter the room they'll think Mickey sent them. I would also like to print up some sort of card with their names on it and a signature from the mouse. I read somewhere you could download character signatures. Does anyone know where to get this? Since its close to Christmas, I want them to think its a Christmas gift from Mickey. I've seen websites that will deliver a personalized gift basket to the room so it will be there upon arrival, but none of the gift baskets had exactly what I wanted. Plus, they cost way too much!

So, any suggestions for what to put in their surprise bags and how to surprise them with it?

Wow! What a fun idea for you to do for your kids! It sounds like you have a lot of good items to give to them. Here are some additional suggestions:

Disney Dollars
Disney Stickers
Disney Playing Cards
Personalized Guest of Honor Badge
T-Shirt with their favorite character
Disney book
Disney movie
Disney CD or Cassette
Disney Trading Pin
Mouse Ears etc... (Sorry the list is so long. I am brainstorming for my kids' surprise package too.:D )

Since it is close to Christmas when you will be going, maybe you could put everything in a stocking with the kids names on them and have the Santa Mickey peeking out of the top.

As for the surprise part, maybe one of you could "accidentally" leave something in the room and run back to the room and set the surprises up. Or maybe you can have the hotel staff deliver it to the room at your convenience. Whatever route you choose, your kids will definitely remember this!

Have a wonderful trip!

Hotel staff usually bends over backwards for the guest so mail it to them and i'm sure they will set it up for you.

If one of you snags a cm when you arrive and tell them what you would like have happen they will try and acomadate.

When My roomate and i stayed at the Grand Floridian for one night for our birthdays (my real birthday her half birthday) What worked for us was she went and parked the car i went and checked in.. I handed my stuffed tigger off to a cm and told her that tigger was her favorite Charicter she had it deliverd..
It was so great to see my Roomate smile she thought it was a repeat of the mistake at the Contemperary(they brought a present to someone who had already checked out(yes we did send it back even thou we thought the stuffed genie was cute) But she read the card saw her name and looked at me like when did i have time to do that i was like I didnt it was a presant from Mickey.

I've seen the giftofalifetime website. They do have some nice gift packages they will deliver to your hotel room. However, the gift basket I want is $50 and I need two for both my kids. I found I can put together my own at about half the price and can customize it exactly how I want it. However, this service does deliver and I can't quite figure out how to put the gifts in the room so to surprise the kids. Our next trip is on the economy plan!

I do not see any inexpensive Disney jewlery for the girls. I know that if I had girls I would love to get them the Princess Charm Braclets all the Princesses in color. Saw this last year in and outside the park and wanted one for my self. How about a necklace etc. Lots of time you can go to Wal Mart and get this type of stuff in the costume jewlery area. What about a tee shirt? Here too you can go to a Wal Mart and since it is the end of the season, they are marked down. These do not say Disney World on them but do have likenesses of Mickey, Pooh etc. Also I saw some cute Mickey Playing Cards in Toys R Us for 2.99. Do you kids play fish or any other game like this. It might be a good way to pass the time. How about coloring books or stickers to put on the auto graph books

Once again I am reminded that my kids are teens and I really miss all this fun stuff. Wish I had thought of it when they were little.

You could always have one parent go on to the room "to find the room" while the second parent takes the kids on a mini-tour of the one of the gift shops/pool/arcade/food court until parent one has time to arrange the gifts.

Or the next morning they could be on the nightstands for them. Mickey delivered them overnight while they were asleep.

I plan to use the method of one parent 'finding' the room and the other look around with the kids. I hope it works out. We are planning to put Disney PJs and maybe a thing of stickers with their autograph book.

We did something similar for our daughter, and we will do something for both daughters again next trip. I bought her pajamas at the Disney Store and bought a princess bag. When we got to the room, DH distracted DD in the bathroom showing her the shower or something stupid like that. I set the bag outside. Closed the door, and then I knocked on it from the inside. She answered the door, and was thrilled. I think it's pretty easy to find a distraction. It sounds like you have all the cool stuff for them :)

This is an awesome idea and I will have to steal it. We will be there the first week in Dec and I think it is an awsome idea. I will put it out the night before we hit the parks, I can run to the gift shop while dh gets them settled in bed.

What a wonderful daddy you are to think of this!

We had a similar dilemma when on DCL Magic 3 years ago. When DDs went to sleep, we placed Minnie and Mickey large plush next to their pillows. When they awoke, the stuffed animals were staring right at them. They asked where they came from...we just said Mickey stopped by to tuck them in and left them. Now DDs are 9 & 10, and still believe the story. They love it!

I went to a Party City store and in the birthday section you can get all kinds of stuff. I picked up the things that came individually. I got an Ariel bubble necklace, Ariel fridge/picture magnet, Tigger fridge/picture magnet and a Tinkerbell cup. They have other party favor stuff in Mickey and Minnie but it was stuff I know my daughter would either loose or not care for so I didn't get those. They have Cinderella party favors in the shape of handbags with stickers, candy, some sort of little game and something else that I couldn't quite tell what it was. They will really had some neat things. If you have a store near you, you should check them out.

I have a goody bag made up for each day we'll be there since this is her Birthday trip, wanted to make each day special.
