I like to put togther a little surprise pack for the kids when we arrive. Has any one done this? What do you put in it? Will they deliver it to your room if you leave it at the front desk? Last year I just set it out when we left and it was waiting for us when we got back.

I was thinking of doing the same thing. Still not entirely sure what I'm going to put in it (my kids are young, so I figure what's in it isn't nearly as important as getting the package itself.) I do think I'm going to put Disney pajamas in there, though. I figure I'll wash them up, and then mail the package down ahead of us, so that when we check in we'll get the package and I can give it right to the kids. "A gift from Mickey!" ;-)

Disney t-shirts are so much less at stores like Wal-mart etc. Why not roll up a new t-shirt & tie it with some curly ribbon? Our Walgreens had a bunch of Disney candy - pens etc. The Target $1 Spot had Disney princess items. Go to the fan section near paint in Wal-mart and you may find little hand-held fans that would be perfect for Florida. They were on clearance when I was there last time so they may be out of stock now. We don't usually have those gummy fruitsnacks on hand (sold where they sell granola bars, in the grocery stores) so those always excite my kids. Last time I got some, there were Nemo & Princess ones available. A new Disney toothbrush for the trip? I saw Disney princess bubble bath, shampoo etc. at Wal-mart (I think). Kids LOVE disposible cameras.

I have to agree with the Target $1 spot and Disney themed fans at Walmart. Very inexpensive gifts for the kids.

I'm not sure if the resort will deliver it to your room or not - anyone know for sure?

When my kids were younger, I would pack all sorts of Disney surprises (stuffed animals, toys, shirts - all bought at home for much less $$$) and leave them on their pillows for when we returned to the room each night. Usually one parent would keep the kids occupied with going to the elevator or the old "oops, I forgot my camera" trick. ;) I don't think the hotel will deliver the items but one of you could go up to the room first and leave the surprise while the other lingers in the lobby taking pictures or something. :thumbsup2

We take our grandchildren to DL when they turn 4 years old and we order a birthday bucket for them to be in the room. However for the car ride we go to the $ store, walmart, walgreens where ever we can find disney items cheap to put together a busy bag. We also hit the sales at the DIsney stores so that when the grandkids are in the bathroom getting ready for bed we put a disney surprise for them on their pillows. We always bring the items except for the last night. We watch them in the park to see what they would like to have and that is the last nights surprise. This sounds like a lot of money but I promise you it isn't! I only buy cheap! The looks on their faces are priceless. (sounds like a commerical ha!). Enjoy

I always make these up for my DD6 & DS7 when we go. I put crayons, coloring books, Disney character snacks, toys, light-up things for the parades, glow sticks and necklaces, clothes, etc. Then I make sure I am the last one out of the room when we leave the first day and quickly put their goodie bags on the beds for them to find when we return. It is always such a treat to see their faces when they see them and for them, it is just another magical thing that you only get at Disney World! And it saves money, too. Also, I buy a postcard at Disney World and send it home addressed to the kids. I write in a different handwriting and send it from Mickey & Minnie. "They" tell them that they miss them already and can't wait to see them again. The kids were SO excited when, a couple of days after we returned home, the postcard was waiting for them. Have a wonderfully magical day :wizard:

I have never done packages in the room, but I buy Disney items for our trips all the time. This time we will be driving, so I will have LOTS of goggdies so the kids can open a treat every hour or so. I have found Disney items at Target, Walmart, even our local dollar stores. Good luck!

We always put a disposable camera in each of the kids' welcome gifts. This way, when we develop the film, we get to see WDW from their perspective.

When we went with our grandson, he would get up each morning and find a little gift left by Mickey while he was sleeping. It was almost like Xmas each a.m. They were small things, but he was so excited each morning to see what was left. Of course, they were all wrapped so he had to open them.

ok this is a great idea... we leave in 24 days so I still have time... I am going to get items one for each night there... with the grand gift on the last night- and I think I will do a stuffed animal from there for that... I did already buy autograph books/pen sets, and photo albums for them, so I will use that for the first night... maybe som pj's too! great ideas
