Surprise or just give

So when me and my girl go to one of the parks I like to get her something Disney Pandora, Vera Bradley or some form of Disney jewellery then find a way to hide it where she will find it and be surprised instead of buying it with her there.

I got her good last trip with some Mickey earrings. We had just got to MK and she wanted Starbucks so I said OK go ahead that I needed to use the bathroom. Instead I went and got her earrings and snuck up on her in line and slipped them into her backpack where her wallet is.
The look on her face was awesome as well as the look from the CM and people standing around her.

Do any of you guys do the same thing? Any stories to tell.

How sweet of you. I don't have any suggestions for you, but I wanted to say how nice of you to surprise her like this.

I love to surprise people like that, but I don't like those kind of surprises myself. Mainly... it has happened, more than once, I had already bought the gift myself. It happened once at work where my co-workers surprised me with the coffee table book of Imagineering! I had mentioned it months before that I would like to have the book, never thinking my supervisor would remember it, I had forgotten mentioning it myself. And I had never expected him to buy it as a thank you for the work I had done. I knew the book was expensive and hard to get where I'm living. Only I had bought it myself not long before this happened... :S My reaction was probably exaggerated, but I was terrified they would find out.

Therefore, my advice would be: Surprise her as soon as you can. Don't give her the time to buy it herself.

If you get one of the table service restaurants you could order a cake for her and then coordinate with your server to give the gift along with the cake.

Get the jewelry and one of the stuffed minnies and set it up on the bed as you leave the resort (Say you forgot something and go back to get it)

You could buy it for her without her there and then have it sent to the front of the park or back to your resort room (if staying on property). On the way out of the park, tell your girlfriend you need to check on a surprise you have in store for her the next day and pick up the package. If you have it sent back to your resort, you will need to pick it up the next day and I'm sure you can think of a way to get that done.

If it's not an engagement ring, don't bother.

;)

I kid. It's very sweet.

Very nice!

How about this? Buy something. Don't tell her. Don't give it to her at Disney. Instead, give it to her after you get home, like when she's totally not expecting it. That way it will still be a surprise and you still get to give her a nice gift. :)
